I consider this to be the best Amlogic S905X4 TV box for the year. It's not a budget model and it has the performance benchmarks to back it up.

Great review. Good box but a pity that in 2021 we are still seeing USB 2.0 ports, especially as the S9054 supports multiple USB 3.0 and those internal read and write speeds are poor for modern internal eMMC.

Great video. Thanks. Do you know of any box that could convert AAC/Dolby Atmos/ DD+ into 5.1 PCM so that any AV receiver could play them from optical port? There are many sources with AAC audio but i could NOT find any box that can play them. Is that why AAC is NOT listed in your ranking file?

Very nice combination of features; rooted, portrait, performance, lot's of settings, upgrades, good wifi,.. And a normal looking interface like on most tablets. Why do almost all other TV box's use such a different interface? I wish they we're more like this. More Android Box and less Android TV box.

No the default file browser does not have the edit/copy/paste/rename option. That's why I used FX

Does anyone know if Kodi supports 4 K resolutions in this box? Or is it restricted to 1080p as in most Android boxes? I could run CoreElec on it, ir dourar, but it seems to have a lot of native features that would be lost then.

Most apps on the play store are 32bit, and most early mobile phone hardware were designed to run these apps. Since then mobile hardware have improved significantly to run larger apps with higher graphics details. So developers started creating apps and games in 64bit in tandem with the release of new are more powerful hardware. Most TV boxes from Amlogic S905X3 to current have 64bit hardware. However developers continue to release firmware for these boxes that can only access 32bit. So it's not using the full capabilities of the hardware. The reason for this is still unknown and frustrates a lot of enthusiasts users who would like to use 64bit apps and games. But from my conclusion the problem is a heat. As allowing apps and games to access the full 64bit capabilities of the hardware required advance cooling on the SOC. Meaning a cooling fan of sorts. So in a nutshell the "bit" relates mostly to quality of the display among other things.

This tv box supports Dolby vision? From the website TV box ranking list shows no but the pros and cons at the end of the video display as available? And another thing if I use my own hdmi cable with hdcp 2.2 instead of the original short hdmi cable, should be fine, right?

Yes Dolby Vision in the setting but to get it to activate the TV's feature is another thing. I have only seen Dolby Vision work on Netflix on boxes that run Android TV OS with official Google certification. If you use your own HDMI cable everything works just fine.

@@boonwue Well it can't because it's not Google Certified for apps to access the feature if you get where I am coming from. That is why to date no one have seen Dolby Vison work on anything but Netflix on Google certified boxes.

Ugoos suggested that with am6b plus because it supports DV. So your understanding is that even am6b plus will not support DV because it is not Google certified with widevine lvl3. It will not run DV content?

Yes I have been try for years to get DV to work with self hosted videos with no success. The only time it works is on a Certified box like the Nvidia shield or Amazon Fire TV cube/stick. Also only on Netflix if you have an HD/4K subscription. Even on these boxes DV doesn't trigger with self hosted videos. So my conclusion is that is has to be with apps that are certified to access DV or something, which also goes hand in hand with Google certification.

The only key-mapping apps authorized to play PUBG and COD mobile are the Panda Mouse Pro, and the Panda Gamepad Pro. These are paid apps around 2-3 dollars.

That is an unusual request . These boxes have now official recording feature so that will have to done via an screen capture app. Also the recording quality will be poor. The box connected to a game capture card or box will be much better option.

Between this one and the mi box which is the better one I have the mi box but it annoys me a bit that there is no card slot and only 1 USB port and hardly any memory. Also it sometimes doesn't start up and then I need to unplug it and replug it... Also between the x96x6 and the mi box... Because if any of those are better I might buy one of these...

Why in ugoos x4 some apps like McAfee and APKpure open in narrow portrait view not wide landscape like other apps. By the way these apps used to open in wide landscape view on my skystream 3

Yes HDMI passthrough plays all surround sound DTS-X, Dolby Atmos, DTS HD MA, THX, Dolby True HD via Kodi with the expert audio enabled. Dolby vision / Dolby surround audio using the default media player.

Yes correct. Set Kodi to Expert. Under audio set channels to 7.1. Scroll down enable audio passthrough. Enable all DTS options under Audio passthrough. Then you are good to go with all surround sound formats through Kodi.

How is this box compared to zidoo z9x in terms of picture and audio output?

If it is not worth the price i will cancel and order the cheaper option. I went for z9x instead of nvidia shield pro because of z9x's better picture upscaling and audio capabilities.

I did the same procedure as you did and it didn't work either. I complained directly to the manufacturer who just said that if other applications come out audios then the defect is in the application I installed. I went to the website of this application and unfortunately they do not solve anything. If you manage to solve this let me know ok!

@@tvboxstop hi. Do you know what is new, regards on the codecs or all this kind of stuff, between x4pro and A95xf3 air? I ask you this, because I had the same problem w/ a new tox3. Tox3 doesn't work properly w/ some apps here in brazil, exactly like our friend here told about x4pro. (lots of channels of a tv channel app has no sound in this boxes). But, look, my dear a95xf3 air never gets mude. I guess that something new in this new boxes changed something that is causing this problem. I don't understand anything about this tech stuff. Do you guess what could it be? What this new generation of tv boxes has that could have changed the performance of tv apps? If we discover these changes we could avoid some boxes and choose the right ones for us here. Tks (ps: I love your videos and chart)

Just got mine. It’s a leap from my H96 max in terms of performance. However the Dolby decoder seems to be problematic. It is on, the sound effects are good but the vision is not. It looks very green and I don’t know why. Also, there is no HDR when I use KZread. There seems to be something wrong with the connection as well. I can connect to Internet through cable and it works great but it cannot connect to Wi-Fi. I have tried ac/n or n/g networks with no luck. I am contacting with the seller to see if there is a solution.

First start with completing all the firmware updates. Then use the right player such as VLC or Kodi (additional settings required). In KZread play the same video from my demonstration just search for 4K video. If you cannot connect to Wi-Fi then the box may be defective. I am using a Wi-Fi 6 router that's not even compatible and it works on both bands.

@@tvboxstop I figured out that the TV box cannot connect to Ethernet and Wi-Fi at the same time. When I disconnect the Ethernet, Wi-Fi connects like a charm. I will try more about the Dolby decoder. Thank you for the reply.

I can't say for sure what's the reason. I am almost sure AtherSX2 (with the correct bios), and Retroarch will work. Sometimes, depending on where you sourced your ROMs they do not load and run.

To play them in HD/4K you would need a certified Android treatment box running on Android TV OS version, with Google Widevine level with HDCP 2.2/2.3 protection. There are new requirements launched by Google for any manufacturer of TV streaming devices to get the certification. Then Netflix will follow suit and grant certification for this software after you achieved the official Google certification. There are boxes that have Google certification but no Netflix certification where you can install a modified version of Netflix via APK and get HD quality only not 4K.

Could you please suggest a solution for some apps which is not appearing full and only as a half in the middle of the screen in this box

It sounds like you activated split screen feature. Are you having half and half screen display of two different apps?

Estava funcionando antes? Tente algo primeiro. Desative o som surround nas configurações de áudio. Mude também o cabo HDMI para um melhor. Além disso, se estiver usando um cabo HDMI longo, use o curto que acompanha a caixa. Se depois de tudo isso funcionar, a caixa está com defeito.

Old model X-530 PC speakers. actually two sets combined to make up 7. I'm using RCA female to open wire cables, to connect them to the receiver. The sub woofer needs 3.5mm headphone to RCA adapter to connect to the receiver. All the speakers have RCA jacks to the end of them.

That's not very high. from my experience with these boxes. For me very high is into the 90s.

Sadly this one also scales down true hd to dolby Surround only nvidie shield does real true hd

You don't understand my receiver does not display true HD even though it detects true HD. Firmware updates stopped for my receiver it displays TrueHD as Dolby surround. it's not a scale down.
