But you are not wrong in reading much into it, there are many reasons to believe it was left ambiguous to have a possible deniability. This is likely because GIDLE got a lot trask talk from conservative koreans shortly after their debut for DARING to kiss each other on the CHEEK after getting a show win. Since then they stopped being fruity, but still release ambigous songs. And also although they cant openly admit their support for lgbt, they always wear something rainbow on june for example.

I feel like we all thought this song was a little fruity when we first heard it. The fact that it came out in lesbian visibility week doesn't help that fact haha. But seriously, I know the lyrics say something like "she's really me", but I feel like that's just in there because you can't release an openly queer song in Korea. That's still a problematic theme there. Even after that line she still sings "I'm certified freak, the way she's moving got me crazy, got me weak". She just changed the prounouns in certain parts and I feel like that was intentional. Adding to that, that line feels like a twist at the end, so were we supposed to read it as queer as first? I don't even know, but all of that is also the reason why I didn't expected a fruity video for the song. I love the video, but I don't think it directly resonates with the lyrics, even from a straight perspective. But I don't think that this was the goal, they were just going for fun vibes with the visuals and succeeded at that. I really enjoyed the whole album and all the clips that were put out for it. If you wanna see a gay video, you should watch the MV for Everytime feat. Minnie. Obviously the video isn't actually queer, but Yuqi and Minnie are kinda girlfriend coded in it and it's just adorable. Especially since it's a song that Yuqi wrote for Minnie. I love their friendship
