I love the Kenyan interviewer's voice and the unique Kenyan accent. Keep building your interviewing skills. My view is that Nairobians' behaviour is not because people think you want to steal from them. That's a superficial response. The real reason is that's normal behaviour in international cosmopolitan cities like New York or London etc. What most people don't realise is that Nairobi is a highly westernised city; and this is not necessarily a good thing since most kenyans love their African culture, like greetings, etc. Some people may think I am gassed because I am Kenyan, but most African cities are not as westernised. This is not surprising considering that for decades, Nairobi has had one of the highest expat populations in Africa. While such westernisation has its price, many African American relocating to the African continent feel at home in Nairobi and Jo'rbug. That's why Nairobi is a favourite global tourist city. Everything has a price.

is it really a good thing AA dont want to explore their west african roots? they want to stick with conveniences of their familiar life and yet want to be given special treatment. they are nigerians, ghanians, senegalese by roots.
Matatu pimping was there even in the 90's. I remember Umoja, Buruburu and Lang'ata in the early 2000's had the best pimped out nissan minibuses

Just a little insight; 1.The pimping of matatus has been a culture since way back not from 2012 as Ann puts it.Its just a culture. 2.Street food should remain street food..that's why it should be eaten along the streets 3.SACCO...Saccos are individually or company owned and every Sacco is allocated a spefic route to ply and all member matatus are only expected to operate within those routes. This is a requirement by the government to help in managing and controlling the matatu industry. Incase of any misbehaviour by member it becomes easily traceable right from the Sacco.

I don't believe the explanation of this lady.i have traveled extensively in Africa and I live in south Africa. This behavior of not greeting other human being either in matatu or in the street is only in Kenya, can only describe it being untiafrican and unsocial behavioural that came to Kenya late back 90s, before it wasn't like that. It's not Kenyan culture. In some countries eg some parts of South Africa people would stop you if you pass them without greeting them. They will ask you if you have a problem.

Did you hear the part I said I spoke to someone & got robbed my phone & laptop? Have you heard of stories where someone just touched you barely in the process you get drugged & stolen from everything So imagine the damage if you say a simple hi...
In Mombasa people greet each other in the matatu. Nairobi on the otherhand things are different. Mind your own business.

Did you hear the part where I said it depends on where you are ?
When everyone is a thief do u count yourself also? You met the wrong person and it can happen anywhere in the world, Kenyans mind there business and also think women who say greet everyone is a slay queen, it depends on the situations.
Nganya za 'foward' made me hate Nairobi 😢
