Ugandan local takes me through Kampala’s biggest slum 🇺🇬
I finally arrived in Uganda after an overnight flight from Dar es Salaam, connecting through Nairobi, Kenya.
I was eager to get out and explore, so after a quick dip and checking in to my hotel, I took a taxi to the Kasubi Tombs - the famous attraction where Uganda’s Kabakas (kings) are buried - before taking a long walk through the rest of the city.
Along the way I bumped into Joseph, who accompanied me for the afternoon. Joseph is a director at the Kids in Kampala Initiative, an orphanage in the Ugandan capital.
Together we went to the Kabaka’s Palace, Idi Amin’s Torture Chambers, the Old Taxi Park and Kampala’s biggest slum - and one of it’s most dangerous hoods - Kisenyi.
