There's a map for it in Wikipedia (search for LGBT in Africa in Wikipedia). A lot of African countries criminalize, and even penalize with death, homosexuality.

@brendonmartin9737 respecting people wishes isn't what you want. That's why every country has some minority protection. Because people are people and just like animals would genocide or even destroy groups of their population for whatever reason or even full out oppress groups they deem inferior. This is why many safe guards exist for minority group and that should extend to lgbtq folks. Every person deserve life, liberty, and the pursuit if happiness. But you can't take someone's life and liberty because it would make you happy. It is all about balance

@@brendonmartin9737 Sorry, I guess that I didn't really clarify my point. I agree with you, everyone should live in a safe place, not only those who qualify to be safe under some ridiculous and racist governments rule. There shouldn't be a need for an underground railroad in any part of the world for any reason. The only people who shouldn't have the right to live freely are hardend criminals and corrupt political leaders.

That's interesting, Auntie Homosexual is my drag queen name. It's worth remembering that homosexuality was not legal in the whole US until 2003. And the fight for acceptance let alone equality is far from over. I remember when my preacher grandpa learned that a Unitarian couple moved in next door. You might have thought the world had ended.

Fair enough. I have no hatred for gay people, but Ugandans have a right to decide their own laws. The west seems to think that they can dictate to the world what is acceptable. A colonial attitude that should stop . people should be helped to leave if they are oppressed. If you force Ugandans to accept what they despise, then THEY would be the oppressed.

Yes Ugandans do have the right to decide their own laws, but that should mean ALL Ugandans have the right to decide on those laws regardless of being gay, or bisexual, or transgender. How many people have been colonized by Russia, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany..... and were oppressed throughout history?
