@@michaelzinn1169 Not an SEC fan, but the two programs I've always had a respect for are LSU Tigers (How can anyone really hate the Cajun culture) and the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia always felt like the Buckeyes of the South. Both recruit well and in the same parts of the country. Both programs have been super close to Natties in the last few decades. Georgia finally got that Natty in '21 after 4 decades (Ohio State went 34 years, '68 to '02, between Natties even though they were a Top 5-10 program through most of that period). I know the Bulldogs are starting to finally rip that Belt as The Kings of College Football from Bama, but in the end they are just a great program.

You guys earned respect after that performance! C.J. Stroud had a hell of a game and demonstrated why he was a Heisman finalist. He made some incredible throws and had several key runs. He’s all class too, the post game interview was impressive. I thought Ryan Day had an excellent game plan and the Buckeyes’ OL played much better than I expected. Sure, Stroud was sacked four times, but the Dawgs didn’t get the consistent pressure that I expected given how much the Dawgs’ D has been able to pressure the qb (regardless of sack numbers). They got heat on Hendon Hooker and some other opposing qbs repeatedly, but that wasn’t the case against Stroud. The game could have gone either way and while I’m pumped that my alma mater pulled it out, I’m impressed by Stroud, Day, and OSU.

It is not lost on this Georgia fan that we had better not take this for granted. Less than 2 years ago, Georgia was the poster child for finding a way to lose this type of game in the most heartbreaking fashion. Especially against Alabama. Now suddenly it seems Georgia is “that team”. I know from experience how frustrating it can be on the other side. I have enough mental scars from the last 20 years to prove it. For however long this run lasts, even if it ends in 8 days, I’m forever grateful. That was a heck of a showing from Ohio State. Nothing but respect from me.

Systematic Ohio St holding ALL NITE. Go back to best example of evening when Stroud made his last run. One D-lineman literally tackled after beating double team, while worse one is #93 being held under both pads, then stretched up at least 8" on each side four about four seconds. Even the panoramic shot allows you to see stretched jersey and pads way up. He was FIXED...literally couldn't move and this clown holds it right in front of umpire and a second official off to the left. Buckeye Herby (shouldn't even be in these games) and his sidekick... silent...even as he takes you through two different views of the play. Incredible.

As an Ohio State fan I'm going to give three truths about that game. I'm proud of the way we showed up and played. Georgia did what a #1 team does and took executed when it had to (yes we had injuries and there were some referee calls I wasn't a fan of, and we should have stuck to our strengrh and gone for the jugular at least once at the end and they won because we missed a field goal - but they also left 6 points on the board from missed field goals and got 7 off of a missed false start), and lastly I am heartbroken once again at the end of a season left to ponder what could have been knowing that we could have won that game (a la 2019). Being an Ohio State fan is maddening. Every year right when I start to believe they rip my heart out.

I had to go watch it in the furthest room away from them because I was screaming. Finally I resigned myself. Put my AirPods in with the game on my phone, turned the volume down a little, and closed my eyes while I listened. By the time the 4th quarter started, I was honestly ready to call it quits. I have never, ever turned a Georgia game off no matter the score, but this one was going to hurt too much… or so I thought. I shot up li like a rocket when we scored that first TD in the 4th and my eyes were glued to the screen from then on. Never seen anything like it. I heard fireworks exploding outside all around me as I yelled “MISS IT!!!!” when Ohio state lined up for that last FG. I watched in awe when it swung wide left. I was in shock. Look I know the south leads the country in poor education, so I'll TRY to explain this to you. Grey Goose said it would have been a totally different game IF Stetson handed the ball off to McIntosh on the zone read in the first quarter that he read wrong and 2 missed field goals and interception. That was a laundry list of excuses. I rebutted with if MHJ played the whole game it would of have been different. Depth, JSN, MHJ both out. Both upper 1st round picks. OSU on their 4th string running back and Stover out a top 5 TE in college. Yet, it took a missed field goal for UGA to win. Notice, I didn't bring any of that up before. I rebutted his laundry list with ONE player being out.

Stetson Bennett may not be the “best” player to ever wear red and black but he is unequivocally the most influential. The dude is a gamer and Mailman is the perfect nickname. Like you, Josh, I had written us off. OSU had come out with their hair on fire, and we were being soundly beaten. I expected the offensive firepower but not for us to struggle against their defense. Even after the jubilation of the final TD that put us ahead 42-41 that feeling of impending doom that a lot of us are having so much trouble shaking was starting to pound in my chest. So many last second disappointments over the 41 years of frustration we've all gone through. Too much time! Too much time! Then Boom! Even now, days later the cold chills are still here! Did we deserve to win? I'll leave that up to conjecture. I just know the football Gods that have beaten us down with so many heart crushing, last second defeats over the last 40+ years did not this time. And the metaphor "Keep Choppin" looms large with another one that I will always take away from THIS game! It ain't about the dog in the fight! It's about the FIGHT in the DAWG!!! DOD, year 2!!!

This is game embodied how razor thin the margins can be at the top when you’re playing equal talent. Ryan Day has lost this type of game twice, both times played the better game but came up short in the end. I wholeheartedly believe, he is the right man for the job. Let’s remember this is his first HC gig and in his first 4 years has produced 4 Heisman finalist, 2 B1G championships, 3 CFP appearances and a National Championship appearance. He flopped on making Coombs, DC, but Meyer has made similar mistakes on DC twice and once on OC in his 7 years here. Not everyone can be as sound on hiring coordinators like Saban. CJ Stroud played the game of his life and I think silence doubters about his willingness to scramble and run. I still feel great about this staff, I think in year two of Knowles, the gaffs that allowed Georgia back into the game and the 5 plays that TTUN blew the game open will get sorted and 2023 will be a truly dominant defense once again.

On that last drive by Georgia where they went ahead 4241 the play where brought Bowers was called short and the first down... they showed that play in slow motion and explained why that was the first down. The most amazing thing that brought Bauer did to get that first down was this.. he went out of bounds but before he went out of balance with his left hand on the turf, his whole weight was on his left hand he kicked both feet up into the air left foot and left left leg and right leg up in the air his right arm was up in the air holding the football and as his as he's going out of bounds he went about a foot and a half past the the yard marker that gave him the first down and you can see nothing on the top except to the left hand keep all of this. Now you talk about exceptional control and desire to get a first down. I've never seen such a thing in all my life I'm sure it's happened but I thought in slow motion and that was the most extraordinary thing I've ever seen a player do to get a first down.

I thought when I watched Michigan and TCU play that I had seen the best playoff game of my life and then I tuned into this game. Wow. Georgia v. tOSU was the best football game I have ever seen. Period. Full stop. Congrats to both. Ohio State played one hell of a good game, but this time, Georgia was a point better. Gutsy comeback against an elite team. I am not a fan of either team (or of Michigan or TCU) but I have the utmost respect for all four clubs in the playoff. What a treat for football fans. Everyone of these teams should hold their head high, as I know Michigan and tOSU fans are heartbroken. I get it that, but don't lament. Incredible games and mad respect for both of your teams.. I hope the Natty game is as entertaining.

As someone who lives in Georgia and is surrounded by Dawg fans, you could easily switch that phrase around. Ohio St stunned GA. Maybe not the team, but the fans. Most of them thought they'd win fairly easily. They certainly weren't expecting to be challenged like that. Great game!

I don't know I was expecting what I saw, OSU up 14 in the fourth kinda close, but any Dawg fan who thought we were winning by more than 2 TDs was crazy. OSU had an immensely talented roster, and unlike the Bammers, develop their backups when top players get injured. They also don't seem to be rebuilding either, so it was going to be close. With their motivation over Michigan loss, I figured Georgia wouldn't cover.

Excellent analysis!!! I am a person who HATES the collage industry of college football punditry. This analysis, however, brought me into the play and gave me a better appreciation for what happened on the field of play. I HATE polls and I give them no value at all. I believe that allowing the opinions of older men to determine the good, better, and best of this sport only serves to corrupt it. I played the game for eleven years of my life. I love when these young men are given the opportunity to determine a championship on the field.

As a Buckeye this one really hurts. Great Game, I just wish I would have got to see a decent fg attempt at the end, even if it misses. Worst kick of what was a very good career. Both QBs showed why they were Heisman finalist. Feel bad that Harrison had to watch the fourth quarter. If I’m a Georgia fan this is the best game I’ve ever seen if the field goal is good it would have been my #1. Amazing Game congrats to Stetson and UGA.

Still soft. What is Day's record in the playoffs? Ohio State played by far their best ball game of the season and Georgia played probably a c+ ball game, with two missed field goals and a couple horrible decisions by Stetson, which has happened in the past but much less frequently these days.. Ohio State has a first round NFL QB and a handful of early round NFL pass catchers. Congratulations, but the rest of your team is just average. You've got a handful of good players but Georgia has the better team and better coaching staff by far and it's not even close... And before you start chirping about scoring so many points, don't even go there. Today's modern spread offenses are in many ways unstoppable, even when pitted against the very best defenses. Check the final game statistics. Stetsons statistics were hand in hand just as good as Stroud's. Ohio State play very well for three quarters and Georgia got the job done when it counted, that's what championship teams do and you don't have a championship team.
