Absolutely loved this movie! Almost no special effects and an amazing articulate story. If you are looking for Star Wars you will be very dissatisfied. If you like cerebral stories that work like a mathematical proof, you will love it.

Yes exactly. This story seems more scientific than scifi. I hate fake unnecessary sci-fi shit. I watched it like 10 times since release because that's how I'm. I'm exactly like that guy. Thinking about the big questions because that's all that matters. There should be answer to these questions in order for me to sleep properly

Looking at both Anderson and Strathairn's IMDB page, they appear not to be lacking in projects up until next year. I don't know too much about the Tony Award guy but he appears to be also quite busy as well.

I've seen some shit movies with great actors before.

How cool would of been if David was in this movie too. Both together in another movie, you know. I still remember how weird was watching David in Evolution without Gillian and now I get the same feelings again but with G xD

This is one of the best UFO movies I've seen. It seemed really authentic. It is worth adding to your collection. I love the Eureka moment by the professor!! It reminded me of Elle in Contact when she first heard the signal.

yah right? and you gotta wait til the end of the movie to get that short glimpse... the title of the movie was totally misleading and should have been called something else, like "i think i saw an UFO?" or I think "I'm autistic and display antisocial behaviors" as the main actor clearly and convincingly portrays.... what a friggen let down of a movie.... let this be a warning for those of you that like UFO movies, THIS isn't really one of those movies... kinda but not really lol

Sounds like the Hulu show "The First", about the first manned mission to Mars. The series told you everything about the characters. What it didn't have was people go to Mars. Not until the last part of the last episode. Even then the only got to Earth orbit. Very disappointing

This is one remarkable movie, I have seen it last night. So smart and intelligent, yet not boring, keeps you interested in all the time. Gillian is excellent in the role of a college professor. Must watch for all mathematicians and alien movie fans. Not in the class of Arrival but almost there. 9/10 ...and for all those who are saying title is misleading, its not, movie is about ufo and aliens, but that does not mean that you are going to see them....because one of the movie premisses is as it is stated in one scene, human brain is not capable to comprehend how an alien would look like.... you can always go and watch Predator, or Alien, if you really want to see some directors imagination of what an alien should look like... this movie is way too deep for that kind of understanding and expectation....and yes, you can see ufo in the movie if you know where to look... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_O%27Hare_International_Airport_UFO_sighting

I came here to watch the trailer, and the ad I got was the Trailer for this movie.

Saw a UFO back in the early 1970s. Some things stay with you through the years.

The WHOLE DAMN MOVIE IS GOING TO BE A TEASE.. It'll end with finally showing the UFO and thats it. I'd rather rewatch Independence Day

Although it's in Cincinnati, I wonder if it's based on Chicago O Hare on 7 November 2006. I was passing through there that day on my way bk to Edinburgh. I didn't get to see anything, but I remember all the fuss.

Oh hurrah! _David Straithairn_ who, for those that don't know, is phenomenal in 'The expanse'. Although, I would say that. For the most part, the acting talent in that series is off the chart. Straitham positively eats the scenery.

This is an EXTREMELY underrated movie. I loved it.

Gilian Anderson is even much more sexier than in the X files.We should see this movie.

I idly clicked on this thinking it might be a big screen remake of the old Gerry Anderson TV series of the same name from back in the seventies. Judging by the standards on show here I'm glad it's not.

Stumbled across this on my recommendations and thought I'd somehow missed that a movie version of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's 1969 TV series UFO had finally been made. I see that's not the case. Maybe someday.

So Gillian Anderson is playing a Dr (of a Uni) in a movie about UFOs and she appears to be the sceptical one. The range of this actress is amazing! I joke I love her actually and she actually does have a good range. I was thinking the other day....so extra terrestrial beings have figured out faster than light travel and this that and the other---yet can't make a ship where you can turn the lights off?!

This looks a bit dull and cliche from the trailer but we'll see. They should do a movie based on the Rendlesham Forrest incident that occurred in 1980. But do it as accurately as possible. Not like "Fire in the Sky" which unfortunately had the truth sucked out of it in favor of movie bullshit. Ironically the truth is far more interesting than Hollywood imagination anyway.

The deputy base commander, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt, Staff Sgt Jim Penniston and Airman John Burroughs aswell as many other on duty witness personnel (all ret) would strongly disagree with you I think. They saw and experienced enough to know that what did happen was a major breach of national security involving multiple craft of unknown origin, most likely extraterrestrial. Surely your Dad if he did work there would know that otherwise what was he doing, sitting in his quarters having a wank? Either that or he simply was not a witness which renders "My Dad worked on that base" as irrelevant. The case has enough credible information to merit a movie based on true events.

It sucks. Don't waste your time. These assholes took a truly intriguing incident that really happened and tried to add a completely b.s. story line that picks up after the real information that we really know about happened and completely failed horribly. It's pretty painful to watch. The soundtrack has been decent. That's about it.
