you can tell how much he trains to not telegraph his punches , that's what defines the elite from the newcomers and (not all but a lot)veterans and Yair is mastering it. Theres a sick elbow he lands in the standing and the crowd and commentators took like one entire second to react insted of doing it instantly because how smoth it was

if you see both fights you can see how toupuria dominated all rounds without be in danger, and Yair was more agressive reciving more shots and almost being rooked. Both win with different plans, but i think that the Yair summition was an error of Emmet and the Ilia win was more technical and secure.

His movement and strikes are so unpredictable. I love how unorthodox his combinations are. His kicks are so powerful even without fully pivoting. He throws wide looping punches as well. Volk will have a big puzzle to solve

I feel like volk may punish him for over swinging on that lead hook. Yair is phenomenal in neutral ground and when he moves backwards, but when he comes forward he leaves himself open.

I love watching Yair fight because no matter where he is, he's doing damage. Emmett didn't know in round one but he automatically covered his head in round two when they went down because he knew that something was coming. Even when Yair lost to Max, outside of the last fight with Volk I've never seen Max get touched like that by all limbs. Really shows how good Max is too

If Yair had better TDD and wasn't so willing to go to the ground he'd have beaten Holloway IMO. I thought he was landing the harder shots on the feet. His lack of TDD is gonna be a big problem with a guy as strong as Volk but he's so dangerous and unpredictable it's hard to count him out

Emmett only has one button on his game controller, its a hella strong button but its so predictable that this was inevitable, especially with his reach disadvantage against a much more diverse weapon like Yair

I have always admired Yair for his no wasted movement and flawless technique. BUT I did wonder if he could take the power and crazy speed of Emmett. Yair has a chin to eat some of those shots, Josh has slept a many a mf. 😢

I believe he was aware of the power and speed, so he used his kicks in order to stay away from those punches. He even took one shot that made him stumble a little. Not gonna lie, as a mexican, I was worried but, at the end, everything was ok haha Mad respect to Josh, looking forward to see him fighting against Topuria

I cant wait for this fight alexander the great been winning this entire time. Yair ONE of the most athletic fighters I've seen in recent years truly a work of art. Him Wonderboy Moreno and Izzy are just blessed athletic specimens.

What a fight. These 2 I have been my favorite to watch for the last couple years

love seeing him stick to his style and strengths he brought into the UFC. So many fighters, especially wrestlers, change their game where they only rely on the threat of a take-down to engage in more striking and dirty boxing. I love that he stayed true to his unpredictable beautiful striking. He focused on learning all the other important disciplines but incorporating them to work around his strengths. This lets him take more risks, like that flying knee, which led to the finish. Most submissions come from a setup to take down your opponent or pull guard. He used his striking to make him vulnerable and out of it on the ground. He then makes you quite anxious on ground because he will look for submissions if he believes the opponent is vulnerable from the setup. The toll of the body kicks and knocking his opponent off balance led to the triangle finish. Beautiful to watch. I also loved the fact he wasn't afraid to strike from his back. Even though the punches and elbows carry less power, it still hurts, especially the elbws. No one is immune against pain and pain changes fights more than ppl. realize.

Yair kept switching and blasting the body followed by a jab and a hook. That stunned emmet and he could never adjust till he got a takedown and thought he could take less damage.
