Few years ago at the company in Pretoria I worked for, an Aussie had to go back after being there for about a year on assignment, the guy was genuinely depressed about having to go back, like seriously, it kind of freaked me out, he wasn't trying to be nice about things, dude was broken, apparently Australia is a SUPER strict place and South Africa apparently is like the complete polar opposite of that. I guess I understand, SA isn't the safest place in the world but you're basically in the Wild West when it comes to straight up personal freedom, which is maybe worth the hassles, there's a price for that unique freedom, make no mistake about it,, which comes in the form of safety etc, but some people gladly make the trade from the pampered first world for the wilds down here in Africa. If you're able to stand by yourself, and have a little bit of street smarts, then this place is genuinely great. Cape Town in particular is ridiculously cool. My sister has been all over the world, she's a lawyer and was a private banker for a long time at a very prestigious (now international) SA private bank, she said there's very few places in the world that rewards entrepreneurs like SA does, it's a wild west market here. Even with the power outages etc, it's a difficult sell SA to those abroad, especially to folks in the first world, I guess you just have to BE here, to live here a bit, to understand what the vibe is about. The country in general is fiercely, almost arrogantly independent and on its own mission compared to the rest of the world, lol. There's a lot of wealth inequality, that sucks but it's indeed getting better, despite government, the more dynamic people move and shake and do business, the better it is for everyone here. South Africa is a unique, sometimes dangerous, beast, but there's really no place like it.

Out of everything I usually hear about him.. I have taught myself to wait until I hear from Dricus himself; I no longer care about any other rubbish, when Dricus eventually addresses an issue he always sounds honest and convincing so I have decided to fully trust him. 🤞😒 When was this podcast? Because for some reason you guys do not seem to be aware Whittaker is fighting Khamzat.. This is the point I lost interest and stopped watching.

I've been saying since this fight was announced that Max is a level above gaethje. He's a multiple time featherweight champion, a goat in his division and has been fighting the best of the best since he was 20. Gaethje is a top 5 gatekeeper title fight choker. Still a dope fighter though.

@@ShadowBannedx That's what I was saying, Australia taxes the fighters the worst since they treat it like a normal Aus person salary. I know Aus, Canada, Brazil, NY, and California are all high. Vegas, Florida, UAE, Saudi are where you want. If he could have fought at 300 he would have made a lot more because of lower taxes, higher PPV and whatever pay incentive they were offering so let's hope he defends a few times to make up for it. Unless you know someone in the SA government who will pay a high site fee to bring Dricus to an Arena there. Australia paid 16 million for 2 PPV and 2 Fight Nights.

I think Adesanya has blackmailed the UFC that if he doesn't get the title shot, he will disappear until 2027. That's what that whole... thing... was about. Interesting thing... one of the Cult of Strickland members was busy listing off why Sean won, including that Sal the judge is an Olympic boxing judge (and proving he's struggling with MMA judging), and Sal gave Round 2 to Dricus, round 3 to Sean. Now... does that sound cohesive to you? (And it was Sal that made it a split decision against Cannonier. Hm.) Even the split decision was generous to the brat. Robbed. He didn't use his stool in the breaks, you know. Definitely 4-1. You could see in round 5 he wasn't landing anything, scraping past, sometimes sliding on the neck or hitting his guard... Dricus landed some beauties. He did destroy what could have been a really fun fight week. The moment the fight was announced, I was keen, saw it as a great matchup - control freak versus the fighting hedonist. But the good thing is... he showed who he is... that's no bad thing. But it looked doubtful he'd make it to the fight, carrying on. Fancy having a young, successful World Champion having to talk about that Paul creature. Then have to insert it in that he's a good dude. C'mon. Professional fighters know it's LARPing... and especially fighters like Dricus who had to take everything he got, nothing handed to him, all of those fights just to get to the UFC, then the attempt to use him as cannon fodder. Jake fckin Paul. Now Dricus is saying stupid shit like not hating him. We all hate him. It's like there's a universal standard of having some sensibilities if you hate him. He's a creep. Double knockout. Bromance. Too funny. Dricus thinks Jiri is a MW, eh? He's very tall, on the chunky side... but a good shot in his fight with Alex, he had Alex against the cage and was pressing in, and he looked, for the first time in all the shots of them together, he looked really small next to him. It's a mind fck to hear Dricus say he thinks big strapping Jiri should be a MW. Is it the hips? (But how hot was his TD? Picked him up, using that ass as leverage, and put him down. Dricus thinks he's good for that? It aint sweet Rob Whittaker.) Dricus's friend is an amusing fellow. He might be the brains of the operation. They did the meme. Australia just sleep walking into totalitarianism. It's very depressing. Top interview.
