About The Event:
A UFC Lightweight Championship bout between current champion Islam Makhachev and current UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski is expected to headline the event. This will be the eighth time in UFC history that champions in different divisions will fight for the same title, following UFC 94, UFC 205, UFC 226, UFC 232, UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs. Dillashaw, UFC 259, and UFC 277. If successful, Volkanovski will become the fourth man to be champion in two divisions simultaneously and fifth fighter overall (after Conor McGregor at UFC 205, Daniel Cormier at UFC 226, Amanda Nunes at UFC 232 and UFC 277, and Henry Cejudo at UFC 238), as well as the eighth person overall to win a title in different divisions.
An interim UFC Featherweight Championship bout between The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America featherweight winner Yair Rodríguez and Josh Emmett will also take place at the event, and will be an incredibly exciting fight as well.

I am a volk fan since 2018 & this is a huge task for volks against fighter whose ground game is something else, supporting volks but have a feeling that makachev is really hard task to overcome.!! Feb is goona be fun 🔥

I think Volkanovski will find himself falling into vulnerable positions and with the power of Makhachev he will either tap or get choked out, but I hope not cause I'm rooting for him 🇦🇺
I want to see this. I'm betting on Islam makhachev
It's interesting because Volkanovski has no problem whooping people who are bigger than him, and I'd say he's a faster striker than Makhachev. But Makhachev is a grappling specialist, and won't have to worry about Volkanovski taking him down, while he'll probably be able to take Volkanovski down eventually.

Islam is an incredle fighter but to say he would instantly become Pound for pound champ if he beats Volk is crazy, volk is coming up a division Islam has to clear out his division and maintain that belt for years before he can get P4P. I think the odds are in his favor, but Volk has a chance and could cement his place as double champ? Who knows?
