I think the most interesting part of Israel vs Alex is the fact that pereira’s kickboxing had improved so so much since the Izzy fights that he became a glory double champ while Izzy stepped away from kickboxing and moved to mma were striking is still involved but you don’t have as high level of strikers as in glory. The fights that Izzy and Alex had were competitive and they have both made large improvements but pereira has most likely improved more so if November 12th is a pure kickboxing match I think people are and will underestimate pereira.

Alex has improved more, how? I would wajor that in mma your striking will develop the same as kickboxing, because every fight starts on the feet and most guys at 185 are pure strikers. Even Yoel Romero doesn’t use his Olympic level wrestling. Further, Alex has only ever won the decision, or the left hank knock out by the same punch. Izzy has knocked out strikers-and wrestlers, beat the best striker ufc has seen to date, with ease. Ied say, Izzy is still the better fighter.

So? That literally proves nothing. Whoever is better on the night is better on the night. Alex beats everyone the exact same way, left hook knockout or barely scraping by in a decision. Also, Izzy standing 8-counted arc in there second fight before the ko. Anyone can land a lucky punch, can Alex point fight? Hell no. Izzy has beating guys with way more skill/skills than the three guys alex has fought in the ufc so far.

Unlike Adesanya's other opponents AP is looking to grow in the sport of MMA. That hunger and desire will work for him. He's not looking for popularity or accolades he's looking to enhance his resume and that's scary. And as far as Zhang goes, she's very similar to Pereira in the way of growth. Her hand speed and accuracy is phenomenal. She has improved her ground game and just sharpens an already powerful sword. Lastly, Poirier has shown how gifted of a fighter his is. He was on a tear before he tangled with Khabib. And has managed to continued to gather wins afterward. The Diamond is still strong enough to etch his name in Iron. His punches are always ridiculously strong, tight and swift. Gaethje, Holloway, McGregor have all tried this man and failed miserably. Dustin Poirier is one that has combined Boxing and MMA beautifully.

This fight had a built-in backstory, which is good because otherwise there's no reason a 6-1 fighter should be challenging for the title. Who's even left at MW after Pereira though? Does Izzy try again at LHW? Does Dana try to convince Khamzat to move up to 185? Do we have to watch a third Whittaker fight?
