    The gym is still very much closed to the public and there have been no team practices since mid-March. We are practicing social distancing. Media/journalism is an essential business and we only went down there (with a face mask on) to cover DC's fight camp. He has a very small number of sparring partners and the rest of his training is outdoors or in his home gym. DC and Cynthia are both top-10 UFC world champion contenders who are in fight camp or could be called up at any moment. Please don't forget to subscribe, like, and leave a nice comment! All your support really helps. :)

    @Tayyab .j - Thanks for noticing and appreciating! I spent a lot of time on that. I want to give the fans the feeling like they’re in the cage room, what it’s like to be inside the fight camp process, and show how hard the whole team is working, but without giving anything away that opponents can use. It’s a fine line to walk. I was so afraid of publishing the wrong things, I actually asked several of the coaches to “proofread” (proofwatch?) my edit before I uploaded it to make sure nothing that can be used against us was being leaked. My biggest surprise from this footage was how clearly you can hear the two fighters breathing. First time shooting in there with a new sound recorder and I found the breathing sounds to be suspenseful and they really drew me in to the action.

    woah this channel is so professional that they put all the fighters social medias in the description. I love that ish! I hate it when some media channel makes a video about a fighter and doesnt even put their name in it! Keep doing amazing work! Cant wait to see more!!!!!!!

    Thank you! I started doing it years ago and now some of the fighters ask for it. They change their IG handles, too, so I don't put them in the video itself, because I can change the description later. More training videos and interviews coming up. I have a lot to edit! And fundraising to be able to travel to shoot some more. Transportation is expensive from San Francisco to San José! All of the costs from this channel come directly out of my own pocket. I am not funded by the gym or any of the fighters. akaallaccess.com/donate-to-aka-films-media/

    Wonder if the gameplan is to submit Stipe or win a decision. Wrestling for 5 rounds is gonna be hard especially at heavyweight. Anyway, letsgo DC we’re all rooting for you.

    In the 80's here in Australia there was a strategy in the AFL, that set about a huge win streak for a football team. "Doesn't matter how many points they score we just need to score more...", the games were exciting and high-scoring. When I see Deron Winn fight, I see someone who knows what to do, who has the ability, but is constantly considering the opponent and their next attack (expert defense). This is good because it will mean he has longevity in the sport, but given his lack of reach is significantly problematic. He has the chin to take the shots, moving in, perhaps even using a traditional Japanese Karate circle is needed. He needs to take a few more shots in an all out attack to do the damage I know, we know, he can do to his opponents. I don't claim to be an expert fighter, but I also don't have the reach and its something I have had to accept. If I want to land the volume of shots needed, it is not my head movement that needs to improve, but my angles of attack in closing the distance. Small man fighting in this all out attack will, in my opinion, considerably increase the damage to his opponents resulting in more wins to place him back at the ranking which is more commensurate with his skill level.

    Can anyone train at this gym even beginners an choose a coach for training

  • @XimenaZhao415

    @XimenaZhao415

    Nobody can train at HQ right now, because it’s been closed since mid-March by a public health shelter-in-place order. But normally, yes, they have beginner classes for all ages from kids through adults. Some of the coaches do teach private lessons (payable by the hour) to gym members, but the highest-level coaches (Javier and Crazy Bob) only train a small handful of professionals that they select, because their coaching time is too valuable to be wasted. Gym information is on the AKA website, linked in the description: www.americankickboxingacademy.com

    It's easy to verify that this is the official AKA KZread channel. Go to "Videos" "Sort By" "Date Oldest" and you can see that we have been filming at Headquarters since Khabib's camp for Conor McGregor. Or the "About" Tab and it shows that this channel was created in 2018. We also own "American Kickboxing Academy" as a "Protected Name" on KZread, so that nobody else can create a channel with our name. The oldest AKA-related KZread channel that I know of was started by Jon Fitch, way back in 2010 and he's still operating it, almost daily: kzread.infoabout Mike Swick from AKA Thailand has a channel for his location that he started in 2013. kzread.infoabout Josh Thomson owns his own gym in San José and also started his own channel back in 2017. kzread.infoabout I wish I could say that creating this channel was my idea, but actually Javier Méndez himself invited me to train at his gym and asked me to "sit next to him" while he's coaching and make this channel for him. The earliest videos, he even lent me his camera. There are always a lot of copycats, fakes, and imitators. Especially on KZread. Welcome to the internet.

    @@XimenaZhao415 There's teams out there who all they do is literally copy my videos, frame by frame, including the titles, descriptions, and graphics. I try not to get distracted by it. I keep innovating, working, and creating, no matter what obstacles are thrown in my path. It's a different mindset; between creator and copycat. I will never understand thieves and liars. I don't even try to. I just avoid them entirely. ^_^

    DC you lost because of Miocic's footwork. Why can't you come back into the heavyweight division, do a couple of fights, get back into contention and beat Stipe for the title? Then Jones will be around and you can beat him at heavyweight. I am a big fan of your talent. Please sir reconsider rewriting your MMA history.
