I love her dad. He was 100% correct about Ronda being scared. She started drama at the weigh-ins to overcompensate and try to be as intimidating as possible to rattle Holly. Didn't work... Also, I really like the two interviewers. They're both very well spoken and ask good/relevant questions. Thanks for posting this interview.

+Yotto O. She didn't come off as very confident by bad-mouthing Holly as "fake," which was clearly a projection... Ditto for throwing a hissy-fit over Holly's fist allegedly touching her face.... after all, it wouldn't be the last time.

+Rat Dota not just real humble, but real. Ronda became a distorted media monster, no longer human. The ghastly creatures she hangs out with: Browne, Edmund, further reduce her humanity and fair or not, nice or not, make her seem alien, dangerous, weird, unlikeable, the xenophobia we feel from seeing her is a valid human response to strangeness and hostility

Her composed and analytic approach has obviously been deeply engraved and this proves it. It's going to take an awful lot to beat her and unless Ronda calms down and shows the same respect to her that she showed Ronda, she hasn't got a shit-show....

I believe you are right, i do believe that a lot of ronda's jerk actions are due to the fact of ronda not having her father and on top of the the fact that her dad didn't just pass away but committed suicide, that will ruin somebody.

+1thess523 This is what scared Ronda. She isn't really the self assured person that she potrays to the media. She saw Holly as a really emotionally and psychologically grounded person and kind of knew she couldn't intimidate her. Her outburst at Holly at the weigh in was that of a scared person who really is insecure. I really feel the angry mean personality is based on the anger of her personal life. Hopefully this loss will make her a better person

Great interview and Roger Holm is an incredible man. No wonder Holly has such class and grace. I bet Roger was a great preacher in his day and changed a lot of lives for the better. I loved watching Ronda Rousey fight, but I would always cringe when I heard Dana White and others proclaim Ronda Rousey as a great role model for young girls. She certainly wasn't a great role model with her constant cursing, crude talking, and poor sportsmanship. With Holly Holm, not only young girls, but all people, men included, have a truly great role model to look up to, who gives proof that the nice person doesn't always finish last, and that hard work and dedication can make the most impossible goals attainable. Dana White and the UFC should be embracing their new champion with open arms. In time, I believe she will become much more of a superstar and more marketable that Rousey ever was, because she is so genuine and likable. Way to go Roger in raising a remarkable daughter.

This dude knows his stuff. I totally agree with him. Striking over grapling as the base is always better. I would 1000 times prefer to be elite in either boxing or kickboxing before coming to MMA than being a wrestler than coming to MMA. Just look at guys like Aldo, Conor, Luke rockhold, Machida, Shogun (in his pride days), Anderson silva, Holly Holm and so on. An elite striker just needs to learn the other stuff and he will be IMPOSSIBLE to beat almost. We still need to find a complete HW, I believe all UFC HW are bad, i think we havent seen THAT TALENT yet. Werdum is the HW champ i love him but we havent seen a mike tyson of HW. Imagine if Badr hari level striker learned takedown and submission defense he would make werdum look like what ronda looked like today i PROMISE you that. But the time hasent come yet. In maybe few year from now you will see a huge talent in HW as well.

  • @EricJ0hansson

+Orhan Soskic What you are describing for HW sounds a lot like Overeem (who beat Badr Hari in K1), but he's not doing that great anyway. HW is tricky, it can be over fast. And there are som good strikers in HW, JDS being one of them. Carwin were pretty good, Mark Hunt is good too. To me Cain is the best in HW, most complete and best at putting everything together for MMA. I think he will take the belt back.

That T-shirt Guy Yes i Know you will have Jon jones, weidman Fedor and other few guys who did well. But still. Jones has HUGE reach and is a ones in a life time talent. But im talking about mostly. Mostly its MUCH better to be a fierce striker before you go into MMA. Just my oppinion. Movement, cutting angles, hans speed, power techniques and so on something you developed since young age. Just look how Sage Northcutt moves compared to other people. Its because this boy Sage nothcut has been training stand up since he could walk. I will 1000 times rather prefer that of anything else.

EricJ0hansson Overeem beat Badr hari 1 time where badr hari underestimated him and plus overeem had a testosterone level 14:1. That overeem had a 14 fight MMA win streak over guys like werdum as well. It was first when he got popped in the ufc and suspended he had to stop using roids and what happened overreem got murdered by almostr everybody. Plus Badr hari beat the crap out of him in their rematch while Overeem was huge and still on ALOT of roids.

Seems like a good man. Explains a lot about Holly. I didn't really care for Holly at first. I've been a Ronda fan from the start, and STILL am. But watching Holly's interviews over the past few years and watching all of her mma fights, I've come to like her. Her reaction to winning was priceless. Genuine emotion that was truly heartfelt. She bit her lip to fight back a gush of tears when Rogan praised her after the fight. I loved that! Nothing fake about her. She is no fluke. Totally dominated Ronda. I can do nothing but respect that. I think Ronda will be back and fiercer than ever, and I want to see that, but I can't help but be happy for Holly.

I met Mr. Holms tonight and helped him at my job. While he was there I didn't know he was Holly's father but realized he had the same last name, and I didn't want to bother and ask him, but looked him up later to check. He is a good Godly man, that is humble, and very respectful, down to earth person! God bless you Mr. Holms. :) You are a good role model!

This victory was double delicious. Not only was the most over hyped, nasty, and arrogant fighter in UFC history dethroned in spectacular fashion but she was beat by the most humble, sweet, and classy gal in MMA.

Good interview, i agree with the dad saying Rousey felt intimidated by lashing out at the conference, i think Rhonda become to much of a hollywood star with all the interviews that it threw her off her training, she wasnt herself and you saw it the first ten seconds, Rhonda will come back and will be smartr not to only box! She needs to do what she does best!
