Great Scott Lina Lansberg has a decent record... but still you can not judge her by the opponents that she fights right now becouse she is pretty new to the UFC so her opponents are also new UFC fighters. But looking at how she fights she is a really bad matchup for Rousey considering that she has a way better standup game then her... and it will be hard taking her down becouse Cyborg has excellent wrestling aswell

It's 2015 and we need to retire the ring girls. The ring girls are not adding anything to the sport. This is not the beginning era of combat sports (boxing and mixed martial arts) were the arenas didn't have the technology and big screens that we have now to announce what round we are in.

True but... I don't think the people who are close to the cage can see. Even though they can easily tell what Round it is if they're paying attention. And, I think it's nice. Especially considering how the fans cheered the ring girls at one point when a fight sucked in UFC 158, I was there. It was hilarious. I cheered too.

As much as I like Ronda Rousey for her fighting skills, she's wrong about pay. People don't get paid for what they put on the line or the amount of effort you put in. Some lower level fighters might put in a lot more effort than the main event fighter, and the main event fighter may get 10, 100, 1000 times more pay. So it is with entertainment-- Arianna Celeste has a large fan base, and will get paid based on what her promoter or agent can negotiate based on her fan base even if there are a ton of people who feel they wouldn't notice if there weren't ring girls. Based on Ronda's flawed logic, Michael or Bruce Buffer wouldn't have a job were it not for the lowliest fighters, so they should get paid less, especially because they aren't 'putting it on the line' or 'working as hard'. Or John McCarthy, Herb Dean, or Steve Mazzagatti. The top fighters should generally get more than the top ring girls, referees, announcers, commentators, yes-- but even this shouldn't be true if a top fighter is a flat personality and just can't sell fights. Think about what happened to Andre Ward or Sergio Martinez until they were very late in figuring out that this is not about just the fight game but about the entertainment business and a fan base. Rousey's trying to talk like a wide-eyed, naive, and grateful girl as a PR lesson to mock Arianna Celeste was just uncalled for, unprofessional, and immature.She lost fans if anything. Business 101-- the fight business isn't just about being the best fighter. Tyson, or Sugar Ray Leonard would not have been without the personality. The featherweight division wouldn't be what it is without McGregor, just as Sugar Ray's middleweight division would have played second fiddle to the Heavyweight division were it not for his charisma, and flair.

False, audience only matters when it's specific to the sports you're in. Her audience isn't an mma audience. Ppl don't watch mma for ring girls. In other words she's not a draw and the night wouldn't be in danger of she was absent. It makes sense why Conor makes more than other fighters cos he's a draw, or ronda too. But ufc makes their money on draws and filling up the air space /or program slot allotted. If you are missing a third ring girl the night goes on, no one will notice, it won't affect the night. If you are missing one fighter, that means you have 15+ minutes less (3 rounds) of a program that gets paid to keep people watching for a certain alotted time, it's harder to replace a fighter than a ring girl. One ring girl is gone? No prob the two left can alternate. A fighter missing? The scheduled program is shorter. The main event draw (Conor or ronda) is missing, people want refunds 😂. It's about how hard it is to replace you and how hard out is to replace your skills even like a camera man or ref. Ronda is right but her reasons I don't agree with. Also when paying a fighter you are paying the entire corner, the money just goes through the fighter. So does this mean ring girls get paid more than fighters, coaches, cut men and "water guys" combined? Sheesh 😂

If Ronda "Lousey" is not making what the ring girls are making then perhaps she should consider taking her issues up with Dana White and not take it out of Arianny Celeste by making stupid comments. Perhaps she is in the wrong line of work if the ring girls are making more than she is.

I am sick and tired of Rhonda taking the shit out of Arianny all the time. Rhonda started the whole thing and has continually been the rude one. Her argument that the ring girls would not gave a job without the fighters is flawed. The fighters would not gave a job without the commission and the judges so does that mean the judges should be payed more? No. There are arguments about the pay of fighters but it has nothing to do with how much ring girls get paid. The real issue is Rhonda is a nasty human being that attacks people because she thinks she is better than everyone else, she thinks anyone proud of their work in a restaurant is pathetic, she thinks anyone making money off their looks is pathetic (except when she does it)

It takes years and years of intense training to become a professional Ring Girl. Firstly there's learning to walk in a circle. This takes most Ring Girls up to 6 years to perfect. Secondly, there's holding up the Round Cards. the muscular endurance required to maintain an above-the-head hold for the entire 10 second lap of the Octagon requires mental power that us mere mortals cannot even imagine. Don't even get me started on the ancient art of 'smiling and waving at the camera'.....

By that logic fighters should get paid more than promoters too.

I totally love the Rowdy one! She reminds me of Royce Gracie when he tore up the first few UFC's. It's great to hear a chick speak her mind without trying to be all PR wishy-washy. Looking forward to a superfight with Cyborg this year or the next, which will end in a first round armbar, of course.

Anyone else notice Ronda never opens her mouth all the way when she speaks. She leaves so many syllables out when talking and it sounds like she’s slurring all the time. When she went to the wwe I started noticing it more and more

She has the highest level of competency a woman can have. She is a true, great athlete. Amazing transition from her sport (judo) to MMA. Not like McMann...olimpic silver in wrestling but even not wood in the UFC!

UFC fighters also work a lot harder than Joe Rogan, Chuck Lidell, Dana White, Joe Silva, and Lorenzo Fertita, but that doesn't mean their pay should be compared. Rousey is acting like a child for making a comparison of pay for a ring girl. Also, one of the reasons some don't make as much money as a ring girl is because fighters like Rousey demand so much money. I am sure Rousey isn't going to take a pay cut so the lower fighters can take home a bigger slice of the pie, so she should shut up.

But what Ronda said was true though, why would the octagon girls get paid more than the actual fighters? ... that's like saying the referree should be paid more than the fighters, without the fighters what is the point of your existence? without the fighters what is the purpose of having ring/octagon girls?... so why should you be paid more than the fighters who train and bust their asses, when all you're "trained" to do is walk around the octagon, hold up a sign and look sexy doing it?

Hypothetically: If a ring girl is already being paid a decent amount of cash from the get-go... and she walks up to a promoter and DEMANDS even more money, you're not going to look at her sideways?! RR should not spend that much time ragging on Arianny. People make silly comments and they are often prompted with silly leading questions to do just that. The ring girls should make as much money as they can get out of the UFC and so should the fighters. RR is a not deep down a nice person because she is a bit insecure and holds grudges forever. She should let some stuff go and project a less combative image outside of the sport.

I was actually thinking about the use if ring girls in MMA, especially in the UFC. Sex sells and there are hundreds of thousands of people watching these events, with tv and internet, even more. Men love seeing sexy women. Hell, even women, straight or lesbian, love seeing sexy women. So, although there may not actually be a need for them in terms of enjoying the actual fight itself, there is a need for them in the aspect of business and aesthetics. Ring girls add a little color to the overall art that is a UFC event. Arianny and Britney add a splash of sex appeal, that would have not been present, otherwise. It all works together.

I met a guy years ago that was a promoter for cage matches here in California, And that dude had HUNDREDS of pics of girls going down on him, because they wanted to be a ring girl.. Its pretty sad to me that, that many girls are willing to go to those levels just to try and further a maybe career. Not All ring girls are going to be an Arianny Celeste.
