UFC 168: Ronda Rousey Says Why She Flipped Miesha Tate Off

Спорт

Ronda Rousey discusses why she gave Miesha Tate the bird at the L.A. stop on the UFC world tour, TUF 18, why Tate will lose Armenian fans after TUF airs, if she was bothered by her fight being bumped to the co-main event at UFC 168 and much more at the Beacon Theatre.

I find her inspirational. She could display more sportsmanship but then again, there are a lot of male fighters who trash talk as a marketing scheme and don't get the obscene amount of hatred (a lot of it misogynistic in nature) as Rousey.

  • @SmekzyEdits

The male champions usually don't trashtalk though. GSP, Jon Jones and Anderson Silva don't really trashtalk. If she's gonna be a champion she should be comfortable instead if having a chip on her shoulder.

Smekzy Edits Like I said, I think more sportsmanship would be better, not worse. But she's cool with Cat Zingano, who actually beat Tate and was supposed to be the other TUF18 coach. Zingano even asked Rousey on Twitter to beat Tate up for her haha. I think it's a personal thing between Rousey and Tate and Rousey is just super brutally honest and can't hide her feelings.

By the comments here I can see why Bullying is Americas claim to fame now. If you watch what is happening Tate is Instigating. Like Bullies do to "weaker" kids ,but in this case it's to a person that destroyed her in the ring already. So it seems even more childish on Tate's part. Now ,If Tate was doing this to gain an advantage strategically ,to get in Rhonda's head. I would applaud her. BUT ,when Dana Ordered her to stop .she couldn't help herself and continued to taunt. If you watch the show ,you see that Tate "needs" to Taunt ,to make herself feel better. She is very Insecure and rightly so. Rhonda took her arm from her like she was a child. Just put her hands around it and said "This is mine" and Took it. So many comments that are "perception" based and you can see that they were told to think this. You didn't watch the show. Others are just so personally biased they refuse to see what is happening. Maybe it's I relate to her. Because If I saw someone Taunting and being a jerk ,like I saw Tate doing. I would react the same way. I got in 4 fights in school. All were with someone like Tate. They were the school bully and Taunted people. Each time I put them in a sleeper hold and whispered in their ear. "If you ever mess with me again ,you will not wake up". They never did mess with me again ,in fact nobody would. This was before there was a UFC. I still don't know how I knew and did what I did. Never lost a fight but I never started 1 either. I also want to say that Tate had Rhonda's back and she easily got out of it. Between her athleticism ,skill and will to win ,you guys are under estimating her with the "1 Trick Pony" comments. She won a wrestling Title in the Boys division. Her speed and agility is amazing. Too bad she has a kind heart and people's negative comments are actually getting to her. Watch the show. Even with it being edited to manipulate perception you can see the things I said. Tate was callous and just said hateful things to try an hurt her. Not get into her head to have an advantage ,just to be hateful. It's scary more people don't seem to "see" it.

denise jefferson You sure? Was it not Tate that told her boyfriend to grab Ronda's ass. Is that not instigating stuff. Remember to Tate's boyfriend said he was gonna knock ronda's teeth down her throat on twitter before the first fight. Tate did instigate to telling Ronda she does not even know how to throw a punch or hit pads at all. Tates words were grab her ass bryan give it a good squeeze. By the way ronda has said many times she respects her as a fighter & she is bad ass & a fierce competitor & athlete. But she does not like her as a person. So she is being true to herself & real while Tate puts on this fake persona.

These people overreact to everything. They fight over immature things all the time, it's just that, Ronda's intention is to give the fight publicity, and maybe get in her rival's head a little bit. Her technique seems immature, but clearly it works. What's immature is how her opponents respond.

I'd like to think she is still a genuine, respectful, articulate champion like her mother. Not a, up herself jack ass like Nick Diaz. For christ sake Ronda is an Olympic Champion, she knows how to act like a graceful champion, I think TUF, Training, being a champ and all the photo shoots and fame might be getting to her. But that's understandable. I'm still on team Ronda.

I agree. If a girl is tough she shouldn't have to exploit it, she should exude it.

Wouldn't say a lot of the men. But I would agree that it is entertaining. But not better than the male fights. And yes some female fights were better than some male fights. At the end of the day it comes down to individuals and how you define a good fight. What I am trying to say it like comparing oranges with apples there is no point its just different.

I dont care about trash talking.. Doesnt make me more interested. Id rather see her fight cat. Trash talk might interest a casual fan but real fans are excited for good fights like jds vs valasquez.. You know good fighters that dont need to talk to hype a fight. And i dont see this as a challenge for ronda. I think the bones card also with 2 title fight will have better fights

Whats with all the Rousey hate? Im so confused. Eh whatever, I think shes an amazing fighter, with probably one of the most remarkable runs so far in her mma career. While I dont see Tate as being able to do much of anything to Rousey, win or lose, Im always going to enjoy watching her fight, even just so I can see amazing judo that is very lacking in mma.

Who the fuck cares if she is disrespectful to the woman whom in four months is going to try and take her head off in their fight. As Chael Sonnen once said "This is a FIGHT business".

I used to love her cause she was so humble but now she's a little bit annoying. I just realized a girl with class despite of physical attributes are more attractive than someone who is rude.
