This was really interesting to see. I lived at Rieber Hall as a freshman and sophomore in 1973-75. It was the first year UCLA had co-ed dorms and, as I recall, Rieber was the only one. There were separate bathrooms/showers for men and women, though. All rooms were doubles. No bunk beds unless you built them yourself. But those closets look the same! And, of course, everything was a LOT more loose. You just moved in whenever! Parking right outside the building. Rent a little fridge and a rotary phone, and you were good to go!

is it weird that i actually want to live in the classic one with communal bathroom... it forces you to be a lot more social and i like that. but it is a little annoying that you don't have a bathroom right next to you when you need one but i could manage

I went to FCA camp for basketball, and I stood in Rieber Hall and had a dorm all to myself. But the rooms had bathrooms, which connected to the other room also .

I was wondering which residence building or whatever has guys and girls on different floor? Curious

This looks awful. At every other school that size room is for 2 people. There aren't even enough closets for everyone I don't know how they get away with that.

triple?! that’s horrible, barely enough for two grown young adults. sad. Much better back in the day!
