thank you for this video!! was wondering how you feel about the semester vs quarter system, a more detailed process on finding your roommates, and the transition in difficulty between highschool and UCLA! thank you :)

a few brief answers before another vid comes out! 1. the quarter system goes by very fast so you definitely don't have as much "chill" time since exams are almost every 2-4 weeks. but with the quarter system, you get to take more classes in a year 2. i started messaging with multiple people on patio/insta, and ended up asking my current roommates to dorm since i clicked with them the most (we all didn't know each other beforehand). 3. it's a lot to process, and the first few weeks can be overwhelming with the large amount of schoolwork but it becomes easier as time progresses!

Wow...Do you sacrifice majoring in business so you could attend UCLA? If you could've majored in business what concentration? Where else did you get accepted? Thanks so much for the great video!

If you already submitted your housing application and put that you’re not looking for anyone specifically, do the individual form buildings reach out to you? Do they choose your roommates for you? Also if you decide you want a specific person after doing the application, if there a way to go back and edit?

if you don't join a roommate group with someone, they will give you a random roommate. but if you find a roommate later on after you receive your housing assignment, i think they have to be in the same building that you're in in order to get paired together. sometimes people will request to swap housing with each other in group chats if their desired roommate is in a diff building so things can work out :)

I'm guessing that as a probable psych major, that you probably want to go into marketing/sales, which caused you to opt out of Business Economics. As far as business and commerce (b&c) related majors at UCLA, there are also Mathematics/Economics, Economics, and some of the Mathematics majors like Applied Mathematics, Financial Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics and Data Science, which students use to get into more of the quantitative analysis side of b&c. Some bizecon and econ majors combine some of the other majors like stats/DS or applied math to their majors, and because of their flexibility, grads in these majors are getting very good placement in consulting, banking, and analysis. But again, you don't seem to be someone who would want to pursue these types of jobs. My point is, that UCLA not having an undergrad b-school opens up these fields for various majors just as it would at universities like most of the Ivies which don't have undergrad b-majors or schools. And those at UCLA who want to go into marketing and sales do major in Psychology, Sociology, and Communications, or just one of the other social sciences or humanities. If you wouldn't mind me giving you advice, I would say just to make sure that you're internship intensive instead of studying psych and expect to have firms/companies to beat your door down to hire you. All the best!
