I have probably gone through the Windows installation process 10+ times, installing Linux-based OS's probably already 30+ times. What's so hard about that? Oh yeah, if you don't know what a partition or bootloader is, Secure Boot, UEFI, that stuff, then go check out the internet. There are millions of tutorials on how to install Windows...

***** Let's break this down a little bit... Nobody and no Operating System needs any kind of CD to connect to the internet. None. "Setup.exe" and any .exe files are Windows executable files. They can't run on Linux. She doesn't even know that there are different operating systems out there, and that you don't need to use some sort of CD shit to "connect". And the reporters giving Ubuntu crap? Seriously? I bet they don't even know how to turn on a computer by themselves. Again, what was she studying? Mark L How the fuck was she supposed to google it if the internet didn't work, ya dip? This clip looks like it was from a while ago, and maybe (probably) it was at the time where internet was just fucking impossible to get to work on Ubuntu or other distro's. Also if you've never heard of Linux at all you have no idea Windows file extentions don't work on it, or even know what file extentions are. Even if you do know how GNU/Linux works right now in 2017 you'll still run into problems, even if the internet finally fucking works.

I miss this h3h3.. when Ethan and Hila were the mum and dad of the internet.. sigh

Yea, no matter what OS you use, as long as you keep it updated, run it on alright hardware, don't install a bunch of bloat-ware, and keep viruses/malware off of it, then most Operating Systems will run fine.

I like to come back to this video for nostalgia sake and I never realized just how brain dead everyone is in this situation. First of all, there's literally nothing stopping this girl from going out and buying a copy of windows and installing it on her laptop. Second, why would she need to put a cd into the disc drive to access the internet? I've never heard of that, was wi-fi still fairly new technology back then when this story aired? Third! Why would she even consider not returning for the semester if her laptop isn't working? Pretty sure most, if not all, universities have computer labs. How entitled are you that you NEED to use your own laptop instead of using a school computer? Also, Open Office is literally the same thing as Word. It's like refusing generic brand ibuprofen because it's not Advil. Insane!
