    Every time I hear the Edge speak - I am reminded of why I love him and his guitar playing. Wow. Thanks edge. I’m a drummer and you inspire me more than any musician in the world. Thank you for being you sir. God Bless

    Amazing humble and wise speech. Don’t do pleasent thing. Take risk, Fail better and get out of your comfort zone to feel the emergency to create and be fully connected in the moment. Thatis the message I got from him. Thank you.

    Excellent, very inspirational speech. Possibly one of the best inspirational speeches I've ever heard! I like how The Edge keeps it real and sincere. People generally should take criticism well. A lot that of things that people can say to you, can be good criticism. Thank you for posting this.

    I was able to give him a personal letter outside the hotel in Amsterdam. So cool...he said nothing and looked at me. He accepted it and stuck it inside his leather jacket. Verry nice person xxx

    I’m always baffled at how the album October is viewed as if it was some kind of failure. To me it’s a fantastic piece of music.

    I know about the punk inspiration as they where inspired by The Clash. Though my dream is to learn the song One on the guitar. Used to play that song every day. I know other people have bigger dreams, but this is my dream.

    Wow! Some simple but excellent insights. Also, over and over again this was a conviction of what Hollywood/Disney/Amazon/Netflix, etc. have been putting out for far too long now. That and the impulse to blame the audience/fans for any issues rather than humbly accept criticism and grow from it.

    This guy could have been in any band and it would've been successful. His mindset and personality are beyond stable and wise. Add to that he has bono with him who is even more talented, no way these guys can not continue to be legends.

    Carefully listening to Edge.. 'Talking 'To his Audience .- .Has A Number Of Benefactors..It's A Fact of Benefits Scheduled To Fit The Audience. The notion of being Politically Correct , Combined With Opinion ..Is nothing more, or less ..A free Speech flexing it's muscles. Thanks for Sharing Edge.

    If they had stayed with that mentality of the Joshua tree they would of had more fans would be liked alot more. Me for one didn't like them as much after the Joshua tree

    Sorry to disagree but to me what's made them so special was the way they reinvented themselves. I adore the Joshua Tree but actually prefer Achtung Baby.

    You have just heard him say you have to take risks !, the 90's were experimental, and made their second ( I'm not sure, maybe their greatest album) Achtung Baby, people who likes their bands to stay in the same place are shallow, no offense, would you be still listening to them with the Joshua Tree # 11 ?, lol.

    I think he pays tax, but not sure. The beatles did not like paying tax, that's what tax man is about. Bowie also changed his passport to a Swiss one, to avoid taxes. Probably for political aesthetics.

    huh? music is'nt all about technique it's more about the song itself. Remember the average listener(especially the one's that count the most i.e. women) does not give a crap's ass how fast or how many notes/scales you can do

His melodic and ryhthmic and harmonic crafting is musically phenomenal, nothing less than refreshing!...that is, for what he had created in the 80's/90's! In the last 2 decades not so much.
