He plays with his pick backwards, also his pick has dimples on it for grip. but since he plays backwards the dimples grab onto the strings and make that unique and beautiful sound.

My parents broke up when I was 9 years old and I cried myself to sleep every night. The only thing that could calm me was this song. It was the song I’d listen to every time I was sad and I still do now.

at the begining of the song "where the streets have no name", the guitar riff is also awesome...a way of guitar playing what I have rarely heard.

The Unforgettable Fire is just one of the greatest rock albums ever produced!

I'm 57 years old now. I met Bono twice during the Unforgettable Fire tour in Hollywood, Florida. I'm a huge fan of The Who and so is Bono so we had a lot to talk about. Bono mentioned to me it is Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders doing the vocals at the end of Pride In The Name of Love where she sings the "oh oh oh oh....oh oh oh oh" part.

One of my very favourites. Hard to believe it is 40 years old!!!

King and U2 On May 26, 2017, David Evan’s guitar pick made contact with the thin metal string on his black Stratocaster guitar, reverberating through a packed house at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. That one note was the opening to U2′s “Pride (In the name of Love).” A deafening roar of approval followed. “Pride” was released by U2 in 1984 as a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr., a man who lived in a time when it was very dangerous for a Black man to show pride. On April 4, 1968, an assassin with what I am sure was a hate for that very pride would end King’s life. As I stood with my brother and friend, moved beyond words, U2′s singer Paul Hewson (Bono) drove home the band’s message nearing the end with the lyrics, “Early morning, April four, Shot rings out in the Memphis sky, Free at last, they took your life, They could not take your pride.” Once again a deafening roar arose from U2′s fans in the stadium. A roar I would like to think was one of respect for a great man and one of hope for the great dream that King envisioned. King spoke of a day when Black men and women could be “free” of fear of losing their life due to simply being Black. There is still much work to be done, and I am certain he would want us to work diligently toward a goal of truly being the land of the free for all Americans. No exceptions. I grew up with my dad playing U2 here and there. Songs like Still haven’t found and beautiful day. Then I stopped giving a fuck. I’m 22 now, and my job was playing this song on the speakers and I was reminded of how much I actually love U2.

I had the blessing of working in a record store in 84-85 when I was 18. The amount of great music I was exposed to... there are no words.

@@thegteam4349 Right?! Wham! even stopped by one night. The store was in LA and they were on their way to the airport. Fatburger was two doors down (I gained SO much weight at that job lol). It was late and we were closed, but we still got them to come in and sign a bunch of stuff. We had a Ticketmaster in the store, so I can't even tell you how many concerts I went to that I wouldn't have otherwise (Prince's Purple Rain 6 times, the last of which my friend and I actually got on stage). It really was the best first job that anybody could ever hope to have. Our manager was cool as hell, and more than half of us were fresh out of high school. In the summer after the store closed at 11 on Friday and Saturday nights, we'd take a Duralog out to the beach to just chill. Our customers even noticed how much fun we were having. In seems completely ridiculous to me now, but they'd tell us that they lived closer to another store in our chain, but they'd come to ours because the staff was so helpful. We'd have people singing to us when they didn't know the name of a song or who it was by, and the crew was diverse enough that somebody could figure it out (no matter how bad the singing was 🤣). The store also had a video side (in the days that renting videos meant standing in long lines), so even those of us on the audio side would help our favorite customers by jumping them in front of the line or just zeroing out their charges so they could just return the videos without waiting in line. Very special job 😊

@@LiNK52500 SO many more lol. It was the "right time, right place" on steroids. We even ACCIDENTALLY scalped Springsteen tickets in the first 10 rows at the Coliseum 😆.

There was some amazing music in the charts in 1984. This song, however, was something else entirely - you could feel it grip you from the Edge's opening harmonics....

Ok class when I get mad I will give something that you never had. Young people throughout the world were taught be people who call themselves educated to fear Jesus Christ and the 5 percent. That's knowledge born November 2 1970. Some who call themselves Christians have fear of high rolling shit I have fears too. But right is right and wrong is wrong stealing money for a cause no matter what it is still wrong class evil is a verb it is action and whatever you do in life wherever you may find yourself good will always overcome the bad. Yo. Church is on Sunday but what about the rest of the week. You stand on the corner and sell drugs. At the end of the day when the sun goes down what you going to do with the surplus throw it away. Hell no you going to smoke the shit and have the latin plug who also would rather switch than fight fairly in Armageddon. Don't mimic talk and write in Hebrew like josh Jacob says be a woman and or man and be real with yourself because in the end you have no one but yourself to blame for your own ass kicking you will and have already received.
