Excuse me! 4 boys , they had more political acumen than your little finger .You only have to listen to thier first album BOY which fortunately I could being the youngest of four kids . They struggled Bonos Mum drove them to gigs way back when . It was 1980 I was in junior school when Boy came out the rawness the visceral energy amazing

I love the U2 of 80's !!

I love how many hooks are in this song. The piano, the guitar, the bass, and that's before even getting to the content of lyrics!

I was 17 then that this was such an awesome song and at 56 I still doo they defiantly a legend in there on making today

They never got better than this for me ... Joshua Tree was the last great album for me before they lost it in America ... music of my youth.

Gosh I remember seeing this band for the first time...freakin awesome..! Good times!!! 1983 I was 22 and living the Life..! Nothing but a good time...!!!!!!

A great song, my favourite by U2 at one of the greatest locations for live music

One of my favorites and it always becomes one of the first ones i play when the year changes. Will never forget seeing them do this at The LA Coliseum with 78,000 fans during Nov 87. Rock On.

You trying singing the same song 10000 times and keep it fresh. Stay skinny, stay young we all love our rock stars young but life is not like that and always come up with something radical to say for four decades. Thats one of the hurtful things u2 would hate to here said but by now ita old to them and they are moving on.

Yeah, they became older musicians. But thank god they kept making music or we'd never have gotten epic songs like One, Beautiful Day, Mysterious Ways, Until the End of the World, Vertigo, Ultraviolet, TLTTGYA, Magnificent, the *entire* legendary Joshua Tree album, and so much more.

Sometimes I wish I had been born 20 years earlier just so that I could have experienced these amazing things. Perhaps it's just me but the music I hear today doesn't sound anywhere near as good as this. Even the U2 I see today is not the same at all...well they are a lot older so I guess that's why.

the best track ever made by u2. and what a performance on this festival! no posing, no videoscreens, almost no lightshow, just pure u2-music. to me they lost their touch over the years ...

It still amazes me to this day how they managed to smooth out the bass' sound issues when mixing this song for the 'Under A Blood Red Sky' album! And this show and this song in particular had been my very first U2 impression; I'm glad 13-year-old me was able to witness this at least on TV, in realtime

I agree the eighties were great time for rock'nroll and I agree U2 were already huge in the eighties, but it's great they changed ant they are still changing. Without it there would be no "One", no "Stay", no "Fly" no "Bullet the Blue Sky", no "Please", no "Electrical Storm", no "Kite" (IMO one of their greatest songs), no "Original ot the Specioes", no "Breathe". The form is different, but the spirit is the same, and that's what's important and what's true.
