The first one I ever learned on guitar.

One of their greatest performances, beyond a doubt. Inspired.

This is from their debut LP all those years ago, I think it sounds as good as ever, and I followed U2 back in those days.

Iremember when U2 played this on SNL in 2004 and they sounded exactly the same as when they were kids ,I choked up Bono was having fun singing this powerful tune written for his mom-a lovely tribute.

The Edge is shredding it, serious energy here.

love Bono's poise and presence in this performance..Pure showman.

He learned from the best: Bowie, Jagger, Cash, Lynott, Mercury. Bono said he became a proper singer after he met Sinatra.

Adams bass tremendous.....

Always inspiring to see a band playing in a country other than their own and watching the reactions of the crowd, seeing they know all the lyrics, etc.

@freydey nah..best was when they played Saturday Night Live - they played at the end of the show and the cast on the side stage looked GENUINELY excited to see them. Bono goes in to the crowd and starts lapdancing one member of the audience. Go watch and see - incredible energy from band, crowd, and cast.

Ok, but according to all known 'records' of their development, I Will Follow was not performed until the Boy tour, autumn 1980, and, according to some info, I Will Follow was written about three weeks prior to going into the studio to record the Boy album, and, Out of Control was written by Bono on his 18th birthday, according to Bono, apparently,.....and, that would be 1978, not 1977. In 1977 they were called The Hype, it wasn't until March/April of 1978 that they called themselves U2.
