Man, the fact that they bust out a whole real operating steam train just to hand out toys to poor communities just RULES man. I wish I could be on the team that makes this magic happen!

Florida East Coast 148 is a 4-6-2 “Pacific” built by ALCO in 1920. It pulled trains through out the FEC, until retirement after a hurricane had destroyed the rail bed. It was used by another railroad until it was retired and was restored back to operation in the 1970s. Today, 148 pulls Sugar trains after returning to service.

US Sugar used 148 and other FEC steam locomotives in the cane fields years ago. US Sugar was the other railroad.

This is nice for the 148 close to its FEC home rails. Working with the US sugar either freight or passengers tourist. Great shot Joe.

I know this Locomotive went to New Jersey to pull the CNJ Blue Comet in 1975

Yup! Ex FEC, but it did work for U.S. Sugar late in the steam era. :)
