What are the reasons for those who oppose this M&A? Is it because their pride will be hurt by being under the umbrella of a foreign capital? If so, it is a laughably ridiculous reason.

You understand how expensive it would be to move and entire steel mill? The foundations of these plants are specially made. The weight of just a single open hearth rivals some companies monthly freight tonnage. The buyout isn’t going to remove jobs because it’s being shipped over seas. Jobs may decrease because of automation. But if you disagree with that, then you hate the increase in productivity of the entire economy

How about ask if it would ever be allowed for US Steel to buy Nippon Steel. That would be a 100% “NO!!” Japan would NEVER allow that to happen.

Can U.S. Steel be compared to Apple or Microsoft? Is U.S. Steel now a benchmark company in the U.S.? The U.S. acquiring Toyota? Do those garbage American car companies have the ability to acquire Toyota? Let me remind you that if we followed the market economy principles you Americans promote, all American car companies should have gone bankrupt in 2008 (they wouldn't even have the value to be acquired). Of course, history has repeatedly shown that in such situations, the U.S. government steps in: suppressing foreign companies to save domestic ones. Back to the main point, U.S. Steel has no competitiveness in the global steel market-in other words, it is a garbage company. If it weren't for the U.S. government's decades of trade protection, it would have gone bankrupt long ago. On the other hand, Nippon Steel is a globally competitive company. It's completely normal for a high-quality company to acquire a dying one.

Japanese steel's competitiveness far surpasses that of U.S. Steel, so Nippon Steel acquiring U.S. Steel is a case of the strong merging with the weak, a normal business practice. If American car companies were to acquire Japanese car companies, it would be the weak merging with the strong, which goes against basic business logic.

Where is the loss? Let me ask, isn't the iPhone that Japan imports an American brand? These weren't included in the U.S. export data to Japan at the time because the chips were produced in Taiwan and then assembled in China, so it was counted as China's export to Japan. Every time I see Americans complaining about the U.S. trade deficit, I find it laughable. You can easily solve this by moving the production lines of American products back to the U.S. These are all American companies' products, and it's up to the American capitalists. Why don't you ask them if they're willing?

Let's say, what would happen if USA wants to acquire Nippon Steel (Japan Steel), would Japanese government allow it? If USA wants to acquire Sony or Nintendo or Toshiba, would Japan allow it? Japan mostly doesn't import American steel, why would people let US Steel be acquired by a Japanese corporation? This is not fair. Japanese depopulation should be blamed on greedy Japanese companies for being too late in giving a pay rise to their Japanese workers. This causes an economic slowdown in Japan, and Japanese companies try to save themselves by acquiring other countries' companies. Nippon Steel (Japan Steel) wants to be the biggest steel maker in the world. But, by acquiring US Steel? Why not use your own effort, Nippon? Aggressive. (Political correctness censors comments)
