U.S. Naval Academy Men's Glee Club Concert - The Navy Hymn and The Battle Hymn of the Republic
Музыка
Spring tour - Texas 2012. This is from the Houston concert at St. Martin's Church on March 17th. President George H. W. Bush (Bush 41) and Barbara Bush were in attendance and seated on the right in the first pew. You can see his leg stick out in the aisle at one point. The socks seemed odd until I remembered that this took place on St. Patrick's Day! Cool dude!!. :-)
Sorry about the shaky start on the video and I'm not sure where the noise came from at the start either - it wasn't the zoom - it is silent. This is a hand-held camera so is not perfect. Note: I removed the KZread stabilize effect to the video as I couldn't stand the "flashes" it created in the video.

I sang this hymn every Sunday at chapel at San Diego Naval Training Center. Co. 928 1975.
My wife's grandfather, Robert Lee Childress, was a Navy veteran of WWI and WWII. He was sunk on the "George Fox Elliot" in "Iron Bottom Sound". He survived even at age 50 plus with three adult children at home in Mississippi. He received the Silver Star. A true hero. I can only guess what his reaction to this beautiful and spiritual music would be. The "Navy Hymn" would be particularly touching to him.
In loving memory of U.S. Navy Corpsman Harold Rice McCollum 2/22/26 - 4/30/13
Bravo Zulu - Well done. USNA, '64, 7th
THANK YOU FOR POSTING Thanks to each and every man and woman who over the years have donned the uniform and our FLAG and sadly so many were covered by the US Flag on their death. This nation cannot now or ever truly pay back to our vets, whole, disabled and deceased. Less than 1% of our US Population stands firm to protect and defend our nation and politicians, judges and sadly many young people despise our military God Save this nation. Pax+ USNR
This choir is terrific!!! Brilliant. Beautifully done in every way. Phil Australia
We sang this every Sunday at MCRD San Diego (1987). Came to mind because two of our local firefighters are missing on a fishing trip off the Florida Coast.
CVE-1 USS Long Island. WWII Guadalcanal. Proud of you Dad.

To all the seamen who are resting at peace, you served your fellow sailors regardless of what navy you served.
