I think Brazil should be given the tournament because you have Marta coming to the end of her career and Brazil not having replaced her with another star in the team quite yet. Having a World Cup in Brazil will allow the Brazilian women's soccer fandom continue to flourish and using Marta as a still relevant person to bring attention to the games. You saw this with the Brazil World Cup in 2014 boosting soccer in the US, now is the time for that boost to help Brazil itself.

@@ckmeh9974 that's what I said, read my comment. She's coming to the end of her career and they haven't replaced her in star power even though you have young players who are talented like Kerolin. These players also tend to play abroad so they haven't been seen by many Brazilian fans consistently. Having the WC in Brazil now let's Marta be a relevant figure (not player) in bringing attention to the tournament.

@@rynejones8513I think I understand the argument you're making, but I dont agree with the "star" phenomenon. Kerolin, Geyse, Debinha, Andressa, Ary Borges, etc. they are awsome players. Its better for the public to know them all, as a team, rather than focus on one big name. This being said, the WWC in Brazil would help women's sport in the whole continent, so I hope they make a good bid and win it.

The sense of entitlement is laughable. Football is only the fourth/fifth biggest sport in America. Whereas the home of the biggest leagues in the world the PL and WSL and where football is a religion is England and they've only ever hosted ONE men's World Cup and NO women's.

Ok, if you want to see soccer grow in the United States, wouldn’t the smart move be to put the game here and host more events here? Also England will have to wait if the European bid wins in a few weeks. You are the entitled one thinking that you should host because you’re the “ancestral home of the game”.

The “over-saturation of FIFA tournaments in the USA” is misleading. There is no problem of fans buying tickets at the stadiums for all the events. There is no problem with venue availability, nor infrastructure, nor accessibility for TV and media. The problem is that the sponsors don’t want to spend money in the USA in 2027 after spending a ton of cash for the 2026 WC. Sponsors want to let the market respond to the advertising for a couple of years before dumping more money in that same market. Alternately, that money is wanted in the UEFA realm in 2027 more than the USA. That’s why USSoccer and the FMF repositioned their bid for 2031 - both federations knew they did not have the votes to win the 2027 bid

I don’t understand the equal investment clause for the USA bid in 2031. Do they mean from FIFA or from advertisers. I can’t see fifa agreeing to the same funding level as the men’s World Cup. They obviously don’t care about what right or wrong… Qatar… cough cough… . The money will have to come from advertisers/ticket sales to provide the equal investment they are seeking. I don’t see advertisers having it in their budget for doing the same elevated level of marketing dollars for both tournaments. Maybe that’s why they delayed since investors would have time to recoup the money to advertise at the same level for a men’s World Cup.
