From 1973 to about 1980, my uncle and I trucked in a 4070 International. I drove all day mostly. We hauled potatoes or grape juice from Erie, Pa. to Ocala, Florida. We always stopped at the Union 76 just north of Richmond, and on the way back we stopped at Jarrells, in Doswell. About 90% of the trucks were cabovers. The glory days of trucking.

JHVN Herrmann I ran that route stop at Speed and Brisco 76 truck stop north of Richmond and Jarrells in Doswell miss those days
The second song that starts at 1:39 is A Mile High In Denver by Jimmy Buffett
2:39 That truck was handled by my Dad and transported steel or wood since it was from a company I do not remember which one but he told me that most trucks in the 70s were cabovers and at the beginning he had the opportunity to drive a peterbilt 352 And then that truck, his route was from Tulare to Texas and always went through the location of the video
At 0:32 the yellow and dark green Peterbilt 352 with a flatbed trailer is with International Transport, a carrier that was based in Rochester Minnesota. It was a 100% owner operator company, and was exclusively open deck freight, including oversize loads. As a kid in the 60's I remember these trucks being the most interesting on the road to me because they were usually really nice trucks that were spec'd out to the hilt, and many times were hauling really interesting machines. My dream was to become an International Transport owner operator. The company was purchased in the late 80's (I believe) by Schneider (the orange trucks) out of Wisconsin. Schneider kept it running as a mostly separate entity for a short time, but then it was completely absorbed and became a Schneider division called Schneider Specialized. Up until that point, Schneider had been dry vans only. At first, Schneider Specialized was only owner operator, just like I.T. had been, but after a short time it turned into a company driver division. I'm not sure exactly what happened after that, but it wasn't too much later, maybe the mid 90s, when Schneider got out of the flatbed segment.
I remember those years, I started trucking with a trans star international and a GMC Astro. I wish we go back to that era. Trucking was more simpler than today.
Thank you to whoever for posting this damn good to see back in the good ole days when trucking was trucking and it was the real deal good to see good tough ole American trucks rollin , hats off to the IH Transtars

Looking at this video again. It’s great to see these old rigs when they were young. Cabovers rule!
That set of doubles @ 2:35 is Kings County Truck Lines from Tulare, Ca. hauling dairy products from Tulare to Los Angeles.
That was back when we waved at drivers from across the highway, never seen them before, maybe never see them again, but it’s just what we did. We were all like family.....

Back then you did know some of them, you would get stuck without a load on the weekend and hang out in the truck stops together, no cellphones no qual coms just go get breakfast all together, less trucks on the road back then so you got to know many and the old 10x20 tires with tubes in them didn’t last so we helped each other with flats on those 2 piece rims, if you didn’t know em you would later if you stayed out there
I trucked back in the 70s.My first truck was a 1977 White Road Commander. No power steering,no airside suspension.just an air ride seat. Trucking was fun back then glad I was part of it. Till the government got involved
Awesome video. Brings back memories. I don't know how they got Eric Cartman to sing the first song though.
bello bello bello bello bello bello bello.bellissimo video.amo i camion.
Great movie man..Thank you..
grazie amico
Sad how life changes. We will never see this kind of moments for the rest of our lives until the end of time
Name of the first and third song?
My favourite era of trucking. Thanks for the memories. You had to drive a truck back then and use strategy to pass, not like today when you put it in D and crank up the AC. Head wind ? What’s that ??
Cabovers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting old truck movie. Thumbs up! :)
Awesome I was only 6 years old in 1979 but I remember it well
