can i ask which wet panel carrier you use?

Excellent review, loved the way you went through everything over these two videos. Really helped me as I have been looking at these easels for watercolour painting and thinking how I could modify them to fit metal pallet boxes etc. I am recently retired and new to painting and some of your comments really helped me in weighing up this easel, so thank you. Glad you are enjoying that easel. I have an Edgepro Gear easel which I love but it is heavier. It was maybe the first magnet based laptop style easel - luxurious and gorgeous and they too are superb at customer service and listening to artists. Many people using the U.Go now too. Great information😄

I’ve been looking and looking at these… thing I like is how responsive they were to you. They fixed what they could and then some and I can tell you are very satisfied with your paint box. I like the wood for me but the gray is very sleek and fits you. I was looking at guerrilla boxes but I think I’m going to get the large one of these because they aren’t so bulky. I like to do watercolor, maybe learn gouache at some point, I think this would work…

Vlad, I LOVE this easel! I originally ordered the day tripper to take with me on a trip to Mohegan Island. I wanted light weight, something that would fit in my backpack, but found it was too bulky and didn’t like that I could not adjust the angle of the mixing pallet. I took a chance and ordered the 8 1/2 x 11 U.Go. It’s the size of a piece of paper and pretty slim. And I totally agree with you, so quick to set up! I click it on the tripod and I GO! I got the sidewings and did a little hack. I cut a piece of plexiglass and spray painted the backside of it white, attached two strips of magnetic tape to it and clicked it on top of one of the side wings so I have additional pallet mixing area if I want it. I keep my paint inside the plastic Transon paint storage container so I attached two magnets to the bottom of my paint storage container and it clicks to the other side wing even if I angle the palette mixing part. I’m loving this easel! Thank you so very much for the time you spend sharing ALL of your reviews of every easel out there-I’ve watched them all. Hi, thanks for the video! Is it possible to use this easel on a tripod as a desktop version? in general does any such type of easel can be mounted on any tripod or do I need to buy a set?

@Open Studio D The problem I have is finding a good reasonably priced tripod, that tips only, without the swivel ball. My pochade box is wide, and heavy winds ruined the tightening screw on the panoramic ball. I can buy a reasonably priced tripod with panoramic ball, but the same issue will occur. Every well built tripod built for pochade boxes are over two times higher. Is it possible to replace only the head of my current tripod with a tilt one?

Not seeing gray powder coating on their site. Do they not carry that anymore or were you treated special?

What is it made out of.? I have a Sienna one but its kind of heavy.

I have the Large u.go with the glass palette and absolutely love it! I 100% agree with you. Thats fantastic about the grey powder coating. I've been debating getting a medium one too just to have different sizes. in any case great review and Happy painting! Good luck at your competition :D Edit: I also had to contact customer support for an issue with my palette...ended up being user error actually...but the customer support was just amazing and highly recommend this product as well!

Do these work with any normal camera tripod with the standard screw? Is there any problems with the magnets over time, they become weaker?

Yes, it works with any tripods and no, the magnets are not going to get weaker. I use the magnets on my ArtProEasel as well

How do you carry this and all the other stuff with you?

lol… this one million $ question… should I shoot a video about it? It is all about strategic planning for each event. But the answer is that everything that I need for the event is in my car.

The palette box is so thin, when you close the lid, wouldn’t the lid touch the oil paint?

Not at all. It will if you squeeze too much of the paint. But got this size of the canvas you would normally get a small … relatively small amount of paint.

U.go is lighter but also it is smaller

does not fit at all I understand this is a publicity stunt and squeeze out the paint and close this drawer and focus all the paint on the lid.

Michael, actually it fits perfectly fine, I just had a dry paint at the end that was stopping the palette to get inside the grooves. The palette is cut perfectly to fit.
