@@f1shm0nger82 the man who became hand of the king at 20 held the position for twenty years or so and few complain of that time and whilst his brother may be bias in what he said he delivered peace,plenty and justice. it is not so easy as good or bad he merely did what he felt was most effective which if it weren't he simply wouldn't have been feared by the whole kingdom if he'd have survived as long as he did at all.

I never understood why Charles Dance never received even an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Tywin Lannister. He was so perfect for that character and portrayed it flawlessly.

He can never BE King. But he can be the best Hand of the King and can pull other King's strings. He could've done that to King Tommen, his grandson, for they had lived.

He WAS one of the best Hand’s in history when he served under the Mad King. Aerys Targaryen was king but it was Tywin who governed the 7 kingdoms and thought by many to be the true ruler at that time.

@@user-mi3tq5qd4u for a time, yes. But Tywin understood that when the fear gets too much, they would revolt eventually. He would make an effort to avoid dealing with that whole thing by keeping the common people happy.

I miss him so much, one of the best characters in the whole show.

@@yurgen5713 house lannister was almost done when tywin father was the lord, tywin made it the most powerful of westeros, and never lost a war, that dos not mean he was a good person, but he was one of the greates lords of westeros history. And as tyrion said "seven kingdoms, united in fear of tywin lannister"

By far the best character in fiction. Such a powerful, dignified man, willing to do ANYTHING to protect and defend the honor and glory of his house, of his family. Not to mention, the best theme song EVER. Let the North remember what happens when they march on the south, let them remember the Reynes, let them remember the fate of Castamere.

My favorite actor in GOT. House Lannister was the most powerful house thanks to Tywin. A lion doesnt concern himself with the opinion of a sheep! There was no person in the series watching Tywin in the eyes when they were talking straight to him. Nobody wanted to have Tywin as an enemy.

Great tribute! I miss Tywin :(

Tywin Lannister such a great character, 100% badass! Charles Dance nailed that performance with flying colors.

Only when he comes back from the death, kings landing can be saved from Cersei and Daenerys

Jonathan Mosher Cersei is a psychopath arogant and stupid Tywin was smart not a bad person but he was brutal whenever he thought that he's family is in danger.

Tywin was the most terrifying and threatening villian of the show.

I love this character, I miss him

Charles Dance is the terrifying father I never had.

A man like me comes but only once in a thousand years.

A true lion among sheep.

He repped the 1% so well. A great leader whom most hated but learned that without his leadership the world suffered and was worse off.

The best players of Game Of Thrones Lord Varys, Little Finger, Tywin Lannister, and Roose Bolton. Two great rulers and two great advisers. One that can't be trusted and gets what he wants to be over king and the other one that wants to do good things to serve the realm.

People forget that he was the Hand of the King for 20 years and it was a peaceful and prosperous times despite the fact the King was a psychopath. Yeah, he was merciless, but he is also surrounded by lords who would love nothing more then to destroy the Lannisters.

I hate D & D more than my admiration for Tywin Lannister. This is the show I thought I would gift to my Grandkids when they were 16. Not anymore.

I loved Tywin, if only he wasn’t so horrible to Tyrion, he’d still be around being a badass
