As a sixers fan, I honestly feel comfortable giving him the keys to run this offense. Gives us a youthful burst, and he’s shown he’s capable of pulling out a game. Yes he’s still young but at the same time more reps creates more opportunity. He’ll be just fine.

23-24 isn't really young by today's standards when you think about folks like Luka, Trae, Melo, Garland, and Josh Green. Players get handed the franchise at 19 now. I totally agree. This is definitely one of those situation where Philly's dumb management is their teams biggest opponent. You have an MVP center who is about 3 years away from beginning his decline, and you have a dynamic do-it-all wing who will be his running mate and be happy with his 25 points a night and never create a Kobe-Shaq scenario. Put a core of specialist role players around them and run with that. Philly STILL thinks it needs players like Harden--who is just going from team to team being a bum who leads the NBA in assists but gives up 30 points a night.

More opportunity also opens up the door for more mistakes and exposure. He's been spoiled with playing next to Harden and Embiid. Didn't have to see the other teams best defender every night. Giving him the keys might not be as good as you think

Same, hoping that Maxey can excel as the lead ball handler and second option to Embiid this year. There's definitely going to be rough patches along the way, but overall I think if he works hard and develops well this season then he'll be able to handle that responsibility against most teams. I'm not too high on us getting through the second round though 😆

he's a nightmare to guard when he's attacking closeouts. if you dont close out hard he's gonna let it fly and make them with efficiency at volume, if you close out too hard he basically teleports to the rim with how fast he is, and he's a great finisher despite being like 6'1. the transition game is obvious.

He's so damn fast. Crazy to see NBA players look like they're in mud chasing after him

Tyrese Maxey is one of those players you forget exists until you play the Sixers in 2K (he's even wearing the grey/white 2k generics lmao). You put your best perimeter guy on Harden and double and pray against Embiid. You accept that Tobias Harris is going to make you pay a couple times. But then this guy gets 26 points off fast breaks, hard drives, free throws, and stepbacks.

Maxey isn't a star to me. He's had it easier thanks to Harden and Embiid running the offense and taking the better defenders. Maxey seems like a McCollum/Herro/Poole type. Great at helping out other star players but they themselves are not all stars who can be the 1st or 2nd option on a contender

Had it easier? Playing offball with 2 ball dominant players and still averaging 20 with INSANE efficiency isnt easy lol especially in the Nba. The guy is not even a priority on offense, hes like a 3rd or 4th option behind tobias and still delivers
