Quick lore disclaimer - I tried to pull Captain Planet shit here with combining Shadow in the Warp with Blanks. Obviously Shadow in the Warp is unique to Tyranid faction while Blank is a rare human genetic mutation that can be translated to "anti-psyker"... So yeah Neurothrope meeting such Blank would have a very bad day since they would interfere with their telepathical link and mess up with it's psychic abillities :)

While I could gush about the 40k setting or my many years playing and painting, the thing I really love about Tacticus is that it’s something to share with my son. He likes 40k because Dad likes it, but he loves Tyranids because they eat people and he thinks that is hilarious. So this gives him a chance to see his beloved monsters eat people.

What I love about tacticus is that it gives me a way of interacting with more 40k stuff. As a father with a 1y old kid I barely have time to game on a bigger scale. Tacticus gives me that "fix" in a way of seeing the setting in action in some way.

I really like how this game has actual important gameplay elements besides the character collection and upgrading. A lot of other character collection games have very limited gameplay beyond the collection and upgrading, while Tacticus has actual level solving and tactics beyond what characters are good/when to use their abilities.

I love Tacticus because it is the perfect intersection of a universe I love (40K), strategy, analytical (character stats, team compositions, etc.), and a community of good people. I also have the fortune to be a guild leader of a group of those people, who, to varying degrees, share these interests, and it makes the experiences that much better. Guild War was a lot, season 1, calling attention to learning the mode, but this second time around (minus roided-out guardsmen), the guild and I had a great time. We relaxed and settled into the mode a lot more, and just played. Thanks for putting this giveaway out there. Would love some brain-bug.

I enjoy Tacticus because it is one of the few character based games that forces you to employ tactics. Most games just encourage you to gather the next powerful character, and while Tacticus certainly does, you can always make “weaker” characters work. It’s a blast to see people rocking this strong new character and think to myself “how do I beat him with my character?”

My favorite thing about Tacticus is pretending to be a chaplain for my guild. I really wish they would put some functionality for it in the guild war, but amping the team up with a well-placed ‘For the Emperor’ or a precision ‘Glory to the first man to die!’ Feels good and gets everyone motivated to spend those tokens.

One of the things that's kept me playing Tacticus over other mobile games (and I've played a number over the years), is that you never really lose anything. with the exception of Tournament arena all interactions are essential vs AI and so you can take your time and play things to good strategy, and its not about who has the quickest fingers, or the most OP character, because everything has a counter, characters can be baited and trapped if you know what you are doing, and there is always choice of what you play and which characters you play with. Apart from in very early days when you are stck with ultramarines haha, but they actually are still pretty decent characters.

I painted and played WH40k when I was at school so it recaptures some of that nostalgia for me. I love the lore behind it all. RTS games are so much better when there's a story behind it. Tacticus is seriously making me consider starting back up with the tabletop.

I used to play Nids back in 3rd and 4th. At this point catching up on the lore is almost a bigger investment than the cash to get back into the game, but Tacticus lets me indulge my nostalgia. Also, I like how a lot of the models just look like painted minis.

Awesome videos. I’ve been a lifelong enjoyer of Warhammer, but never really engaged in the table top hobby, so this has been an easy way for me to engage the game and the lore and the tactics, without having to overspend on the table, top, hobby, as I often do with new hobbies. Videos like yours are super useful because there’s a whole lot of information in this game that isn’t always easy to parse out when you’re relatively new to it. Thanks for the effort! It makes a difference.

Gameplay and characters aside, what I really like about it now is that I got my wife into it lol. She thinks it’s a lot of fun and seeing her play a game outside of her comfort zone and enjoying it too makes me real happy. Also love it when she asks questions about this and that, I feel like a turbo nerd knowing so much but it just means she has a genuine interest in it. Excellent video too, btw!!

My favorite part about playing Tacticus is that it is free. I can expect a steady stream of new content and characters to keep the gameplay fresh without being forced to pay 100s of dollars for minis or paint. My favorite thing about Tacticus is that it lets me play with Warhammer stuff without the time/models/painting of tabletop. Honestly, my wife would never allow it in our house. 😆 but the strategies and synergies are fun, and I’m glad that we can work on so many characters and factions. I wish that we could access every character though, and not rely on reqs. I came to this game, because it required less time and attention than my previous game did. There was a guild war game mode that essentially required our entire guild to be on at the same time and to communicate in discord for a few hours. It was taking away from my time with family too much and I couldn’t keep it up. I think that the guild war season should only be like 3 wars long. I’m worried the more game modes they add to the game, the more likely I am to need to quit playing.

I love seeing your favourite character grow each week. It is also very satisfying to create a team composition or even just two characters in a combination that works in certain modes, such as Legendary Events. I think for most of us it's more about making the most of what we have and what kind of mechanics we enjoy, rather than the perfect most op compo.

I have a little story how i ended up liking the game so much. I'm a Ukrainian and due to inadequate neighbour and war they started - i wasn't able to focus on things, like at all. I couldn't read, couldn't watch movies properly, only things that need a short attention span. And then the game comes out. Due to its nature with planning on upgrades and counting how much you'll be able to upgrade in N days, i would focus my mind on planning my next move, who to upgrade etc. And that's what helped me out a lot to regain my ability to focus. Later i started planning on legendary events and who to upgrade before it starts so now this is my favourite mode)

Honestly, I find it a very well thought out game. I'm often repulsed by how little gameplay there is in mobile games, but Tacticus really does seem different; even if it maintains those systems of limiting how much you can play at a time, the variety of gamemodes actually means its hard to run out of things to play. And the gameplay is good, character abilities are flavourful, and tactical play is important and deep without being overwhelming or overcomplicated. I think you're right about Guild Wars being pretty burnouty for players at the moment, I think they should happen fewer times in a row, though with less of a wait between them. They also need to try to balance the guilds going up against each other, as it feels very bad to watch another guild roflstomp your whole base while you struggle to break through even one of their frontlines. I think a system which tries to match guilds against opponents of similar strength would be much better than the self-assigned level system they currently have.

Plus it's a nice community generally, both in guild and online

Tacticus provides a nice and indepth gameplay for a mobile game with different modes to choose from. You have the "mandatory" campaigns to play for items but have the choice after finishing it to raid them for quick items or play the missions over again to kill some time. Onslaught, Arena and Salvage Zone provide different gamemodes to shine with different playstyles. And when in an active guild, the Guild Raids and Wars provide again, a different kind of gameplay and social interaction and tactics with other members. And with the limited time events inbetween you always have some fun games to play.

I initially wasn’t all that big on the Nids, at least in Tacticus; however, after having played around with them a bit (after a longer period of neglect), I saw that the two I had, Neurothrope and Tyrant guard, are not just fun to use, but also pretty useful in certain game types. Tyrant guard can keep your units alive in LREs (sadly I can’t combine him with Isabella as I don’t have her yet), and the Neurothrope can lay down ungodly amounts of damage on raid bosses. For the latter of the two in particular I really like how strategic you have to be in terms of positioning and attack order, especially when combining it with characters such as Eldryon and Ahriman.

Heya. What drew me to the game was the strategy game aspect of it. I grew up with games like Advance Wars, the XCom games and others, so I was looking for something like that I could play while on the train or similar. I think that generally the game and Guild War in particular, could be improved by adding some more strategic depth to it. Maybe fog of war for some modes, bigger maps, or different maps in general. Guild War doesn't really feel like you are advancing on an enemy position, it's mostly playing against an Arena team and waiting for them to overstep on the map. The enemy AI isn't really defensive and the maps aren't a fortified position or a fortress or anything ... I think the Guild War mode has a lot of potential and is mostly held back by the game having relatively bad communication/cooperation features. Especially in more casual guilds where some players could deal with a lineup really well (maybe they have inflitrate units vs Overwatch for example), while others don't, it'd be really nice to coordinate who looks to take down which lineups in the Wars. The Cadians need some more tuning imo and so do some of the defensive buffs, but it's at least something that SP actively works on rn, so I haven't given up hope yet. In general I really like the mode. As for the IP in general ... I played the tabletop for a bit, I played various pc games with it over the years. The Tyranids are my favourite faction cause ... they are omnicidal, omnivore space-bugs that all share the same mind and are one of the major threats to the galaxy. How could a girl not love them ?

I've played this game intensely and currently a bit more relaxed, and both are pleasant modes. Whatever your power there's always a good match with events, ladders, etc. While getting heroes upgraded is a long term goal, the various events featuring certain characters, that you might not even own, let you get a taste of how they work.

As a Tyranid player on the tabletop I really enjoy being able to play them in a 40K video game as so little even feature them as a faction let alone feel fun to play

Awesome video, got yourself a sub! The best thing I've found in the game is how welcoming and helpful everyone is. I'm also lucky to have dropped onto a really active guild that is very engaging. Keep up the great work!

Relatively new to tacticus but what I love most is the slow grind, replay ability and the rewarding feeling from finally beating that frustrating boss! I joined a a guild and they helped Me out a bunch. Nuerothorpe would massively boost me up and allow me to contribute more to the guild💪🤞-darkcustodian

Was a huge StarCraft guy, but had an arm amputation a few years back after an accident. Was unable to successfully micro/macro short handed and friend just so happened to suggest Warhammer, I read a few books, watched tons of lore videos and now I’m hooked. Funny thing is I was a Zerg main and hated ‘toss boys, but now I main Thousand Sons & Eldar, but hate the Nids 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾‍♂️ Heresy!!!🤷🏾‍♂️

The grind for the characters is a chore and can be expensive, but this is the life of a Warhammer fan-atic!

There’s so little in terms of 40k games that let you play around with all the factions of 40k. A lot focus on the space marines, but this one, you can use any of them, and together as well. You wouldn’t catch Marneus Calgar working with Abadon, but it’s fun to be able to use them together

It's really nice that characters which don't shine in pvp or guild raids are such help in LRE, none is useless

Mechanics are really smart but simple; the grind actually feels pretty rewarding for me. Just wish I had more energy to do more but it's nice to see your toons dishing out more and more dmg, and playing around with so many possible synergies that will only compound as more characters / game types are launched

I like how all characters play a bit differently and one can utilize your units in different ways in LRE, quests and TA. Guild raid also keeps updated quite frequantly which keeps it interrsting.

I discovered the game 3 weeks ago, when I just began to play w40k tabletop again. I find it really nice and fun with a lot of diversity, so you still can play when stuck because of you character progression. The requisitions are pretty hard though, as I almost always get the campaign characters so it’s block the diversity. So getting units to progress through campaign is a real challenge but it’s really satisfying when I finally win. Probably a long time challenge, I’m really glad I discovered this game :)

I for one embrace our new Space Insect overlords...especially this Brain Bug😊 I love Tacticus for the variety of characters I can field from minute to minute, and the guild I belong to has really frequent communication between members to members and leadership to members across the game client and our Discord server. Overall, besides Eve Echoes, I think this is the most "alive" mobile game I've played with folks equally invested.

I love how the different characters work together to make some killer teams like eldy neuro abraxas, and others, I don’t have any family stories in the only one who plays but I will say I barely missed neuro and have been hunting him for a while, it’s great seeing you grow Szeku! Good luck!

Subscribed ! Tacticus is a bliss investment, I enjoy the game very much. It helped me get into the warhammer universe which now led me to you :D The guild community is a great feature to meet like minded individuals, plenty of fun game modes available I just dislike the over priced in game purchases.
