I believe all of these types of teachers, occur in phases as the summer goes on. Start off tired, then vacation, and then need to plan and get all of the PD done.

Hybrid of Vacation and Zen, I think.

I’ve been the burnt out teacher all summer! I have cable, Netflix, Disney+, and Prime along with a stack of brand new books, puzzles, and crafts I had hoped to enjoy this summer. What am I doing instead? In bed watching the Samsung logo screensaver float across the screen and watching ice eating ASMR videos and TikTok. That’s all I can handle at this point and I’m expected to go back on August 2nd and repeat the cycle! Send help and a tin can of kettle corn. 🙏🏽😭😭😭

Can anyone tell me why this summer is going so fast after THE LONGEST year of our lives!!! Pump the brakes July...I need to make up for blue screen

My summer didn’t start until July!!! Our superintendent closed the school down from Thanksgiving until after Christmas break and then said we had to work until June 30th. We have to go back the second week of August.

I have been teaching for 21 years. I can relate to so many of these. So funny! I love it!

After teaching more than 13 years, I've definitely become the "burnt out teacher lol" people ask me if I get bored and there is NO SUCH THING AS BOREDOM when you need the summer to mentally recuperate even if that's doing nothing.... following to be zen and relax :)

I was never bored in summer, since I loved going to science PD: Geology field camp in Yellowstone, Snow camp studying avalanches in CO, Marine Science in coastal TX, Loved it all! However...it made planning a real mental challenge because there was so much more to try to integrate. I had the mixed blessing of so many resources.

Planning extensively in COVID times reminds me of buying all of your Christmas presents too early when you live in hurricane country.

I am definitely the side hustling teacher who waits to the last week to start planning for the school year. Lol!!!

Personally I am currently the perfect mix between the exhausted /stressed/super planner teacher and school has just finished...

My sister just retired this year! She was all of thee above!!❤️

I have been all BUT the sappy teacher. Seeing those "cutie pies" even after they've moved on to a new class in the new term. No thanks.

I think at some point over the last 2 years I’ve been every one of these teachers! In January 2021 I quit a 20 year teaching job, started a new job, sold a house, bought a house, and moved four states away! By summer I was definitely burned out. Now however I’m in travel mode, on a road trip with two of my grandkids, AND taking college classes for my masters. Ya, I know, gluten for punishment. 😂😂😂

I’m a good mix of “Burned Out” and “Vacation-loving .” Lol

The planner teacher is for new teacher only lol

This year I am exhausted. Wake me up mid-August and I’ll start my planning then…if I’m not too tired. 🥱😴

I need to feel I'm being productive over the holiday. I've already ordered some classroom supplies. I balance my day too with exercise, rest and some PD.

I am a combination of each of these teachers.
