I've heard too many people expect superhuman things from Scholars. Why? They are also human, living on the same planet, also prone to the same errors/misjudgements and lapses as us. They are the torch bearers of the Ummah and inheritors of the Prophet (s.a.w), let us be reasonable.
Take the good and leave the bad.
Without scholars, we are but wanderers in a jungle in the darkness of the night.

People who criticise scholars for no valid reason are just jealous. I mean imagine, being pious and having fun at the same time...who wouldn't want that?!

True! May Allah swt give us that life. They work hard for it too. It didn't come easy. But the reward and responsibility and the accountability is 10 fold. Everybody except their family expect them to be perfect. But they are human just like us except they are wiser and more humble then us.

True, this is the problem of the heart because of hasd and not following the akhlaq of the Prophet Muhammad saw, unfortunately it's prevalent now on the KZread dawah scene, let's see which scholar we can refute and slander to bring our own status up or if you're following a certain scholar, you are not a true believer because you've not heard of the controversial slander put out by the scholar I chose to follow etc. Naivity of the ummah also plays a role in propagating this too, always wanting to follow clickbait instead of people who chose not to slander or backbite their Muslim brothers. It's the basic aqidah of the one we chose to follow we've to discern are they first and foremost following the Quran and Sunnah, not about social status.
This is too true! My father is an Imam and scholar in my community. The things people pick on... you would not believe. Scholars are living under a microscope under severe scrutiny. It affects their families as well when people try to give them a hard time. 😐
