@@davidtree2511 I have experienced this too, but as a rule explainer myself, I have to admit it is very hard to remember all the rules, but it definitely depends on the game being played. Some are so complex that it's easier to play the game with the rules that are already known and then when a question arises about what happens next or a certain rule, then consult the rulebook. But yea, I've had that happen plenty of times too.

Went to a local game night at a bar, and it was relatively competitive. It wasn't a huge amount of money, but the locals took it very seriously. We made the mistake of running a few minutes late, and having the girlfriend of one of the regulars put in a team name for us. She literally put each of our actual names in a row...so every single person in the bar was talking shit to us BY NAME the entire night. I will never let anybody else decide on a team name.
