I was wondering if dc motor can be converted to universal motor ore generator? Wuld it be posibel to turn 4 brush starter motor to act as universal motor ore starter/generator if you actualy split those 4 brush holders?

Wuld it by posibel adding transformer wires to shunt dc motors and generators makeing them compount motors ore generators? What if I wanted that same device to by motor and generator how wuld I wire regulator to that thing ore how wuld I wire automatic switches?
