Freakin AWSOME. They sounded better than any time I’ve seen them live before. And I’ve seen Type probably 5 times during their Halloween tours in New Haven Connecticut at Toads Place. My first show was at the El N Gee club in New London Connecticut. Bloody Kisses tour. Peter was standing outside the show shaking hands with people on the way in. This was right after he was on that tv show with all the groupies. Best band ever IMO. Still regret missing that last show in Hartford Connecticut right before Peter died. Like an idiot I was doing coke back than and because of that I missed the show. Little did I know, that would have been the last show I could have ever attended. RIP Pete. The Mix is excellent and Pete's bass tone is rich and full of groove. I think the fact he doesn't have the distortion or chorus pedals on account for very clean, deep, tone that usually isn't heard on alot of live performances. Great stuff thank you for uploading this in full!

By far, the best rendition of My Girlfriend's Girlfriend I've ever heard. Mind-blowing stuff. They were absolutely on fire during this show. Also loved Josh's soft keyboards in the bridge of Bacchus - the tone was perfect. Sounded like something straight off of Radiohead. Type O at their height. Whoever the sound crew was should've been retained. Every instrument was audible and well mixed, which almost never happened after this show, sadly. Like, you can actually hear everything Josh is doing, which was more often than not criminally buried behind the guitar and bass.

The thing with Type O is that they don't always use conventional sounds for their instruments. It depends on the track and live setting, but alot of the "bass" sounds is Josh using chordal voicing an octave lower than Peter's scooped tone. In this video (perhaps because there is no crowd, and he doesn't have to worry about cutting through the mix?) Peter is using a dry bass signal which is occupying most of the lower frequencies, so Josh is playing chords in between Peter and Kenny. Compare the riff being played 4:42 to 5:27 . The former sounds *fuller* than the latter because Josh is playing a octave higher than Kenny. Whereas the former Josh is playing the octave between Peter and Kenny.

especially this live version of Too Late: Frozen is by far the best of all. IMHO this song is live better than the recorded versions. the bass playing of pete is so catchy in the beginning and i'm quite sure its kenny singing the bridge on the records. he is a great singer, too but pete is killing it. have you ever tried to knock at your throat to get this vibrato? sadly i never were old (and probably mature) enough to see them live. now i am almost 30 years of age and understand the pain and maturity in those lyrics. you've got to belong to it!... as phil would scream ;D

@@dfkater There's a few, but nothing quite as good as this. Type: Type O Negative live and search is the best thing I can tell you.
RIP Pete. You were the best of the best! This show kicked fucking ASS. !
TYPE O NEGATIVE FOR LIFE YOU GUYS FUCKING ROCK
The Mix is excellent and Pete's bass tone is rich and full of groove. I think the fact he doesn't have the distortion or chorus pedals on account for very clean, deep, tone that usually isn't heard on alot of live performances. Great stuff thank you for uploading this in full!

I agree, this performance also has some of the best played versions of the songs in the setlist, In Praise Of Bacchus is hands down the best version of that song they've ever played IMO (Live or studio), Too Late:Frozen from this show was also top teir.

You can actually hear every single thing Josh is doing, which is amazing. Whoever mixed this show was an absolute fucking pro.

@@satanicpanicattheddtable2604 You mean, Fallout. Josh was in Original Sin with his wife (at the time) singing lead. Incidentally, I have some Original Sin and Fallout uploaded to my channel.

And it's not a easy task to fit keyboards and metal like that. Most of the bands i see live the keyboard sound off and annoying.

I knew ToN Just in 2020! When we were in lockdown for Covid. I was so bored and i used to look KZread videos and concerts. I loved them soon! I was young during their music's years.. but i cannot go to concerts 😢 by the way. Even thought i was young enough. What a pity! ... I lost my favourite bands.
My most beloved band in their brilliance...just mesmerising!
Their best performance in my opinion 🖤💚
especially this live version of Too Late: Frozen is by far the best of all.

It's Pete on the record. He just has his voice masked in a shit ton of chorus and phaser effects. But, yeah, he knocked it out of the park on this performance.
Tino
