Type o Negative is a prime example of a band that held their own and couldn't be contended with. No one compares to them in their type of music. Pure talent. They are justified!

Such a hauntingly meloncholy masterpiece I can't believe the genious of this band and their arrangements. This is the soundtrack to autumn.

Dark, harmonic, tender and uplifting (with a bit of boisterous bleakness bunged in for TON's nihilistic measure !); yes, this is typical TON style. The Flock Of Seagulls / Cocteau Twins influence is certainly obvious here. (2 of Pete Steele's essential influences)

+handsomebrick Tool has no similarities with Sabbath whatsoever. I'd say Alice in Chains. Type O is definitely inspired by Sabbath's doomy heavy riffs. But they had a really distinctive sound which sets them apart.

Oh Yeah, except I read CC's books back in the 70's so it was Zeppelin and Flyod for me. I did get to party with Pete once after a concert in Shreveport, LA. Been a TON fan forever. RIP Green Man.
