Type 18 Long sword and scabbard by Tod of Tods Workshop
This video shows a type 18 longsword and scabbard made by Tod of Tods workshop and talks a little about the piece, dimensions weights and details that make up a quality reproduction sword. Sorry about the sound quality - I will get this sorted

Truely a lovely build. So timely with the auction of those two type 18’s as well.
I just wish I could afford to buy your products.

@@sinaparsi6736 His Tods Cutler products are very affordable. The Tods Workshop stuff is very expensive. There's a difference in the quality though obviously.
I just bought mine , I spent a pretty penny but it’s priceless to me to have this sword I have a 12-17 century dagger from Tods cutlery, and fell in love with his workmanship
Beautiful work! I love the pommel, very attractive.
iv admired your work on your site for a while now and now i love these videos showcasing your knowledge as well as your talent, thankyou.
Drop dead gorgeous, that weapon is a work of art.
You are an unbelievably talented man . Thank you Tod ! 😁👍
WOW! This sword looks amazing. Im very impressed by your work,
Gorgeous sword. Thanks for the tour.
One of the best things I've seen in my life.
Astounding sword and scabbard. Very beautiful.
Lovely work, Tod. Thanks for the video.
Beautiful mate, love your history insights too, really good channel buddy
Beautiful work sir, such a elegant sword.
So beautiful!
really great work greetings from Crete .
Lovely work
beautiful!
I would love to see a video on how you do some of these things. How do you cast your fittings? How did you do the pommel with the twisted cord file work? I know that workshop filming during a project can be a mental drain and consequently quite dangerous, but even just some snapshots of different steps with overlay commentary would be spectacular. Still, I'm grateful for everything you do show us. Just spectacular.
Absolute beauty
I love your work! One day I'll be able to afford a piece too :D
What an interesting life to lead you to be able to do all these things
Magnificent.
Good stuff
one day I shall afford you
Very Nice
I go back and forth between this and the A479 as my favorite pieces you’ve produced. I think I’d probably like this one from a practical standpoint, with the longer hilt... but I think the A479 edges it out in looks. The scabbard, including the “rough” back, is stunning. It gives it more character than if it were blemish-free and polished. But also, I really want to know where that hoodie came from.
Nice sword and review, only thing missing was a good close-up on the blade.
Resembles Strider's sword. Love it.
Drooling
I'm not surprised seeing yet another fantastic piece from you Tod, beautiful. I love the little history tid bits too. However I must ask where did you get that smashing hoody from? It looks as comfy as a chair made of bean bags on a trampoline.
Gorgeous, I love that pommel shape. Do you have a gallery of photos of this?
Utterly gorgeous! Just about the only thing I don't prefer on this type of sword is the pommel itself (for aesthetic reasons only, mind you), but your work is absolutely excellent regardless and you make it look great.
Gorgeous work. I know nothing about leather work, so tell me, do you stamp the leather before stitching it to the wooden scabbard or after? I imagine before, but again I'm not exactly an expert
How long do you all think until Tod gets his own memes? I don't think it can be too long since Matt the Context King (PBUH) has been reviewing so much of his stuff.

A meme with Tod's face on Euclid (instead of Bramante's) in the School of Athens painting would be funny, or Tod as Griswold in Diablo 1
So what's the thinking behind tang buttons? I come across them semi-regularly, but don't know how common they were as opposed to riveting directly onto the pommel. I guess they're a later thing. Are they for making up the difference between the standard dimensions in the stock of blade makers and cutlers?
Cool sweatshirt, where can I get one? I like the style of the neckline.
Like the hoodie, where can I get one???
Tod, I know you probably hate me for no reason at all, but I adore your videos.
First glance reminds me of Aragorn's original sword.
You and Matt from scholagladiatoria should do a collaboration video.
Curious question, how were the chapes attached back then? Just pressed on or did they use a hare glue? I know modern reproductions use 2 part epoxy, but im heavily curious on what would have been used by craftsmen back then
200th like!
This is my favorite sword you sell I want to buy it so bad, I need to ask how long until it can be made if I order it ? I’m as of right now waiting 2 years already for an Albion 12-18 months for a Steven lock wood and 2 years plus for a scabbard from dbk .
I apologize my very mundane question, but whats the hoodie you are wearing, and where its bought? BR. sebastian
Really really good looking, what is the weight? I couldn't get that.

You need one of those fluffy wind stoppers over the mic, Tod.
at 4:50, wire-bound means what. it is really cord?
do you handforge these ? this is really cool

Awesome, and also I would like to ask where you get the crossbow-prods from, because I would like to build one by myself.

Ohhh what a pity. I guess I will search for some old leaf-springs and make it by myself then...
Honestly, i've heard wind in a lot of your videos, and of you don't have a mic with one of those thick meshy filter things on it that may help.
Is that a type 18 pommel or are you just happy to see me?
I know this was popular in England. But it was also popular in other places. Like you mentioned, Germans liked it too. So why do I keep finding stuff calling this style an "English Longsword" Are there even any distinctly English features when it comes to longswords? All I know is that Bastard Swords were popular.
Tod, you need to find a way to shield your microphone from the wind, it's messing up the sound in your videos. I think it can be done somehow.
fantastic blade and scabbard, blade laws here are just too bureaucratic to buy or commission one sadly.. love the work though:)
To boldy file where noonenhas filed before.
Please do your videos either indoors or with some protection for the microphone. The wind was really distracting.
I like my 1911 better
Sound is awful.
