About Tyler Childers:
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky is a little town called, Paintsville, where the economy is dependent on the dying coal industry and a tradition of music thrives with the US 23 Country Music Highway Museum and Butcher Hollow. Carrying on the music tradition is native son and current Lexington, Kentucky resident, Tyler Childers.
Paintsville is located in the Big Sandy River Valley of Johnson County in Eastern Kentucky made famous for its lawlessness, religion, and booze, and a song about a horse thief, a rambling man, and an attempt to gain some good ol' Appalachian self-justice is what "William Hill" is all about. Following his "Papaw" around to the Kentucky social institutions - church events and barber shops to name a few- as well as a lot of coon hunting with his dad, Tyler has heard a tale or two about the misadventures of a few good ol' boys and he gives his own spin of these accounts behind a whisky-soaked voice well beyond his young age.
About OurVinyl TV:
OurVinyl TV films live performances with both emerging and established musicians. We've worked with artists such as St. Paul and The Broken Bones, Ed Sheeran, Allen Stone, Kina Grannis, Dispatch, Iration, Donavon Frankenreiter, Rebelution, Marcus Foster, and Odessa Rose. We do our best to push the production envelope by filming artists in unique settings that compliment their music.
Lyrics:
Early in the morning when the sun does rise
Laying in the bed with blood shot eyes
Late in the evening when the sun sinks low
Well that's about time my rooster crows
I've got women up and down this creek
Where to keep me going and my engine clean
Run me ragged but I don't fret
Cause there ain't been nothing slow me down just yet
Get me drinking that moonshine
Get me higher than a grocery bill
Take my troubles to the high wall
Throw them in the river and get your fill
We been sniffing that cocaine
And no better feeling when the wind cuts cold
Lord its mighty hard living
But a damn good feeling to run these roads
I got people trying to tell me Red
Keep this living and you wind up dead
Cast your troubles on the lord of lords
Wind up lying on the cooling board
But I got buddies up at white house road
They keep me strutting when my feet hang low
Rot gut whiskey gonna ease my pain
And all this running gonna keep me sane
Get me drinking that moonshine
Get me higher than a grocery bill
Take my troubles to the high wall
Throw them in the river and get your fill
We been sniffing that cocaine
And no better feeling when the wind cuts cold
Lord its mighty hard living
But a damn good feeling to run these roads
Damn good feeling to run these roads
When they lay me in the cold hard clay
Singing them hymns while the banjo plays
Tell those ladies that they ought not frown
Cause there ain't been nothing ever held me down
Well the lawman, women or a shallow grave
Same old blues just a different day
Get me drinking that moonshine
Get me higher than a grocery bill
Take my troubles to the high wall
Throw them in the river and get your fill
We been sniffing that cocaine
And no better feeling when the wind cuts cold
Lord its mighty hard living
But a damn good feeling to run these roads
Damn good feeling to run these roads
Damn good feeling to run these roads
Damn good feeling to run these roads

You would want this kind of talent mixed into the "COUNTRY POP" garbage that has taken over our airwaves? The top 40 pop music of the 80s with a pair of cowboy boots next to it? Yeah..the difference is that this artist is authentic, and plays great music that people of all genres, roots and influences can relate to, and deeply appreciate. And so many other musicians with songs of equal caliber... which there will never be a "chart" for. Excellence is independent of consensual recognition...

Our son turned us on to this, my father in law would of loved this. Dead south and Tyler Childers should tour together. Bluegrass music gets to your soul.
I just discovered Tyler. I'm not much of a country fan, anymore, I used to be. But something about his voice draws me in. I like the bluegrass & folk aspect of his sound.

Talk about soul. THIS IS COUNTRY. FAST & LOOSE. HONESTY, PERIOD. SICK TALENT. GOD BLESS THIS MAN. VOICE OF AN HONEST GENERATION. WOW. GOD BLESS HIM.
It's such a profound thing to know that all the great talents of the last ten years haven't been on the radio, VEVO, or had their names in lights. You have to earn the right to hear the greatest art of this generation by working for it. Slogging through comments for suggested artists and through rag entertainment newspapers to take a chance on random small venues denoting genres that are so damn opaque in their description. Bluegrass, folk...hell, even real hip hop and jazz all went underground. Those who aren't worthy of hearing these sublime moments have written off the notion of there being anything great since the 80's because they didn't hear it on FM or shoved into their faces by television. Share these moments with those who quit searching and remind them that art is alive and well, but you have to get off your ass and look for it. Just like this song. A twinkle of youth and a tear came to my 60 year old dads eye to hear it when I shared this (and more) with him. A little injection of life and youth, and suddenly he wants to find live music again. Thank you for that, Tyler.

It's a damn good feeling to run these roads
A couple of months ago I was driving a couple buddies of mine back to Charleston, WV, after an outing at New River Gorge, and I asked my friend Andrew to give me a disk to play. He gave me the compilation of "Red Barn" recordings that includes this song. I've been a fan of Tyler Childers ever since. This guy is a real poet with a distinctive and mature timbre to his voice, and he knows what he's singing about. A tremendous talent. The first time I heard "Deadman's Curve" it brought tears to my eyes.
This is the version of W.R. that I heard some years back on Pandora. I’d never heard anything quite like it. Been a Tyler fan ever since! 👏 🍺

How about now
Just listened to this for the first time yesterday, and I already know that this guy is the definition of an artist. Well done sir, well done.
Look Tyler, I know you are talented. But I have sat and listened to your music for over an hour in rural Texas. I love you, you need to keep who whom are alive. Because it is keeping me alive.
Me and my dad whenever we go camping we always go fishing till the sun sets and whenever we would head home or drive anywhere you Will always hear Tyler Childers playing in his truck. Now because of that Every single time I listen to him I start to cry I don’t know why
I love the awkward introduction transition to the seamlessly flawless performance🥳
Keep singing it! Wish more of this music was on the radio. Anymore it’s pop and all about money. Guys like you keep this style of music from fading away.
I'll never forget when I first watched this in the summer of 2017. I felt a feeling that I have seldom had before, and it was the first time I've felt it since I heard Living the Dream by Sturgill for the first time. I really don't even know if Tyler realizes how important he is to the country genre. Here's to many more years of hearing his music.

Tyler Childers is the greatest singer I’ve ever heard. Most definitely best country singer. His music sincerely stirs my soul
