watching Tyjae in these highlights, i feel like i'm watching Kareem Hunt in his time with KC. Kareem didnt test well athletically either. also ran a 4.61 x 40, but damn he could run thru an arm tackle and make guys miss in a very short area

Tyjae Spears can run through arm tackles because he has surprising strength, but he's not a between the tackles type of runner. No, he has great elusiveness, can make people miss with his lateral movement, and he can also catch the football out of the backfield. He's a great all-around RB!
Love this series green wave in the house 🌊🌊

I agree. He was elite in vertical, broad, and 20 yd split with a 7.4 RAS total score. Not bad at all

He’s a baller. A gamer. Not a guy that measures when measured. He showed ALOT in the preseason game versus Bears. Dude runs with some HEAT. He’s not afraid of contact. Very explosive.

I would say Tajae Spears, to me, is like a slightly shorter, (2 inches) slightly thicker (11lbs.) Tony Dorsett; not quite the long speed but the same burst and same traits in many other areas. TD was about 5'11" 190lbs, and used to GLIDE when he ran; Spears is a glider as well; you see the unique blend of suddenness and fluidity that Spears and Dorsett both have on film; both backs are very instinctive with great vision 👀 and impromptu change-of-direction. Both seem to break a lot of long runs on film, and I love that kind of game-breaking ability from a RB. ***Side note: I didn't see this year's draft darling, Bijan Robinson breaking many long runs (one or two), mostly juking and jumping for 15 yards and then out of bounds. But he is clearly a highly athletic physical specimen. Tajae doesn't have the sheer blistering acceleration that T.D. had, but they are really close in so many areas: Vision, quickness, suddenness / change-of-direction, both are great open field runners with a very fluid gliding type of stride. Both can hit the long run on a handoff or a screen pass. I really, really like Tajae Spears! 2nd-round talent for me.

Good critique, money, the only negative is you spelled his name wrong.😆 It's Tyjae.
I'm a Titans fan and I[m ready for what's next. Willis (?), Levis (?), Spears, Chig, Burks and hopefully one of their other WR. The Tannehill / Henry Era is pretty much over.
Spears has the best film of ANY RB in the entire draft! IDK if I have EVER seen film this good in the modern era of football and I watch a good deal of film. He is the only RB that I just want to download his film to my hard drive and watch it on repeat. It's that good! Realistically... why he is being mocked to the 4th-5th round... Two knocks I have on him are going to be: 1. His smaller school (Tulane) 2. His weight (201 lbs). I think we will look back at this draft and teams will regret not drafting him after the first round. Player comp. (in terms of his film not weight/height) Marshawn Lynch (beast mode)

Better than Henry
Love to see him in Detroit where he can take over Swift's spot when he is injured and next year when Swift is a free agent. LOL, just realized I'm getting a new Herbert for Montgomery. Hey, if it ain't broke ....

I have a funny feeling that D-Mo is finally going to breakout as a superstar in the 8mile. He’s a fierce runner and just needs an average oline to help him reach his potential.
Thomas Jones was awesome. 26th on the all-time rushing list. Wahoowa!
I am SUPER excited to see this guy play in the NFL
He reminds me of Marshawn Lynch. He is an amazing back. He is a human highlight reel. His film blew me away! He is a tremendous value pick. IMHO he looked like a mid 2nd round prospect. He is elite. His size/weight is not ideal but he plays soooo strong! Going to the Titans is a perfect fit. He can share carries. He is a great backup because like y'all said he doesn't lose yards and he constantly breaks tackles.
He’s a David Montgomery, look up his highlights from this past season, look a lot alike
since when is a 39 inch vert a below ave athletic profile? help!

In comparison to other players in the class. They are in the weeds with that take I agree. Too much YAC/TDs for it to matter. He'll see better blocking in the NFL too.

yep, real serious injury history. I hope he can stay healthy.
Spears would be perfect for the Titans and the AFC South division. Figured he be in Chicago.
TITAN UP
Great chose of words in explanation. He is different and idk the long term success but behind King Henry right here and now going to Titans he could definitely catch 7 or 8 td. The wheel routes and pass catching out of the backfield plus draw plays as a #3 should be out of the gate good. Looking at what hillard was able to do for th last year I can see him fulfilling this role and then some.
These plays are insane; he’s got great moves; not sure how he can continue to do that with no ACL in one knee

He reminds me of shady

yeah, he was and still incredible he's the NFL's leading rusher with having ran for all those yards. But 2 things is why he did - 1. He ran behind a great Dallas OLine. 2. He had a really great cut back, he could read holes really well and always was great at cutting back into those holes and breaking free down the field. But you're right he was slow as hell!😆 Barry Sanders should have been the NFL's alltime leading rusher if he hadn't retired.
