Love your videos. Yes you can see the effect of the stacks when the light was behind the fly. Can't wait to get the material for this pattern. Keep those long videos coming, no one can come close to the quality and knowledge of your videos. Thanks for making these videos.

Another cracking pattern. Just started using the ice dubbing over the last few weeks and blending it into my own mixes and I can’t fault it. Picked up another few tips with this video so thanks for posting guys, great Fly Kelly and looking forward to the next one pal.

It's always nice to ear the tier talk. That's the way to learn. Not just for the tying, but about the fly, the hystory of it. The timelaps vids are nice, but it's seems it's just a way to get that over with. I appriciate the time you take for us. Thanks!

Nice tie Kelly. This was the first articulated big streamer I tied and fished 12 months ago. Landed a large Rainbow here in NZ. I then discovered there are larger angrier fish and life beyond the Woolly Bugger. Cheers.

"I was addicted to Laser dub for awhile." Me too friend, me too! Excellent video. That Lavender really ties the fly together, does it not? It kinda looks like gill plate with it on the side like that.

I'm trying to imagine this fly wet and I really like the layering effect, something that's missing in a lot of streamers. I'd really like a larger version of this fly for summer pike. My old, gnarled fingers are gonna give it a shot!

Nice pattern. I'm going to tie a few of these in a bluegill color that I think will be dynamite on the bass down here. The olive and white seems to imitate a juvenile bluegill anyway. I may, however, use a #4 stinger hook on the front end though for largemouth bass

Thanks again for another great tie. Would you use eyes on these? I find the addition of eyes leads to more takes with most bait fish type patterns.

Sick. As i am learning more and tying more and more i'm starting to really appreciate the simplicity and functionality of some of your patterns. I love tying pike flies most of all, but streamers like this are the kind you can crank out like you are getting paid for it. Similar to Andersson's CF baitfish in that aspect. Fill a box with all different colors in a night. Love it. Gonna tie some up tomorrow! You mentioned that the sculpin olive changed. I bought some last year and still have quite a bit. Do you know when the recipe/coloration changed? The stuff i have is more brownish than anything. Seems good for the top of a brown trout imitation though. Maybe yellow marabou on bottom, a more golden/purple/yellow dub or chenille, and a touch of blue instead of the lavender is what i am thinking. Love the longer vids

    >>>>--->🎯 I've been tying for 7months now, and have learned so many techniques etc. from you. Thanks for the inspiration. One thing's for sure, I'll never be able to fish all the flies I've tied, or use up all the materials I've gathered LOL

Thanks Kelly and gang for putting up these videos. One suggestion though, can you put a picture of the actual fly as the thumbnail. I imagine you'll get more views that way and make it easier to go through your videos for the flies we want to tie. Keep up the good work.

Looks like a great pattern for the smaller rivers and creeks here in MN and WI. Do you ever have issues with keeping the fly tracking upright in the water? Is the weight of the hook point enough, or would this benefit from using dumbbell eyes on the bottom of the hook instead of a bead? Good stuff!

  • @TheSlideinn

Adam, it does role a little now and then as does the Barely legal but believe it or not I think it makes if fish better. I think it actually creates a little distressed look to the fly. I dont see it happen on slow jiggy style retreives but if I move if fast it will rock a little to the side now and then. thanks for watching. Kelly

Hi Kelly, is the back hook a bigger size simply because of the differences in shank length and hook gap between the gamakatsu b10s and the daiichi?

Riley, you could use it but the marabou just has that extra actin that no synthetic can match. Tie some up both ways and see which one you like, that's the fun of it. thanks for watching man, kelly
