Davie, Thanks for the spinner pattern. I often figure 8 a little dubbing through the hackle to separate the wings and build up the thorax, but it certainly isn't necessary. I like the bug-bond idea. Do you ever use hen hackle tips for wings? Thanks, Harold

Mr. McPhail, I was wondering if you could do a more detailed video when making a fly, jig or spinner.. like tell more about the materials you are using? example what hackle you are using for like from neck or body hackle, Etc. Thanks and God Bless

Davie, How do you determine the size of the hackle to use for the spinner wings??? For example on like a size 18 hook....what size hackle would have the right barb length to make the right length spinner wings??? Is there a simple rule of thumb to follow, like on a size 18 hook size 14 hackle would work because you want longer fibers than on a traditional style dry??

This is a male trico spinner. At least Trico is what we call them in the U.S. The female is in a tan/lt yellow. I know I just learned but I have seen this fly tied in many times while learning. Jim Misiura ties both the male and female in one video. All the best, Sean
