There is nothing better than having a waterfall all to yourself 😀
I did the Mau-Har bypass and absolutely loved it! One of these days I'll be back and do Mau-Har and 3 ridges as a loop. It's beautiful hiking and the campsite by the swimming hole is really nice.
Great job Jenny! That dip sure looked refreshing!
Miles is about stride. I’m a medium sized man and my stride is not as long as some of my friends. So I have to do a lot more steps to cover the same distance they do. Just how it is. Also I’ve used a cooling wrap around my neck when I worked on the ramp. It works!
Nice swimming hole
I've got a mileage chart of three woman (Mum and her two adult daughters) who did the trail in 2015 in 160 days and you're about four days behind them so you're doing ok. I would imagine lots take alternate routes, but sometimes they're doing the old AT. Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive is the old AT I believe and walking that you get all the viewpoints rather than being in a green tunnel.

@@HikingwithJenny book better; later books become a little less boy oriented
How quickly did your clothes dry after the swim. I’m curious as to why you didn’t take off your long sleeve shirt.

I wanted it to be wet so I would be cooler as I hike 😎
