Thanks this was absolutely awesome! And if possible, it would be great to have Tycho back to explain the rest of his Reaper live setup :)
Tycho is such a cool, nice guy, in addition to being an incredible musician and songwriter. And this is yet another reason for everyone to use Reaper. Great vid!
Excellent video! I’ve looked for something like this for years!
This is great! Tycho is awesome!!
Bro so sick!!!! Tycho is one of my favorites ever
Awesome episode!
Looking forward to watching this!
This is looking perfect for the Nektar Pacer I have. The Pacer is so flexible with many programmable footswitches, but, it is somewhat like Reaper, you make it do what you want. Nektar Pacer has drivers for different DAWs. Reaper is one of them so setup is very easy!
Love Tycho and this was very educational!
Tycho TALKS About Live Looping with Super8 (which is still interesting, but not what I was expecting from the title). Thanks to both of you anyway though. I tried to get my head around Super8 once before and gave up. Maybe it's time to try again.

It's not Tycho's setup, but here's mine: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mZeCmqWfktDggrw.html
YES!!! my favorite artist right here!
Thanks for this content, bro
What a great video! I've been fucking around with Super8 but this cleared some things up for me.
Nice as always! Interview Ben Levin! He uses reaper in very cleaver ways!
FAVORITE DAW AND FAVORITE ARTIST IN A VIDEO? FUCK YES
Incredible
Really cool :D Feels crazy when u realize the big league live on the same planet haha!
Interesting stuff :-)
More Tycho!
A project template example would be great too!
I remember when Minilogue just came out and I was trying to help Scott out with a workaround for an annoying Minilogue MIDI clock bug using Reaper. The 'workaround' didn't actually work and I was quite embarrassed. Fortunately, Korg fixed the bug in a firmware update, so it was alright in the end.
My live looping setup uses TouchOSC as a controller, jsvolume and readelay. OSC works better than MIDI because OSC allows the controller to hit infinite repeat on the delay, whereas MIDI will hit .01 above or below . Input is on one track, audio sent to track with delay. Volume js is turned up or down to send signal into delay. Using a fader gets rid of loop clicks.

I have a track template with 4 tracks set up. I use parameter modulation so all I record is the raw input. Been searching for a looping setup for decades that can beat synch, and this is best thing I’ve come up with. The very audible click at the loop points on SuperLooper makes it useless for what I do
Got to chat with him for a sec in El Paso Texas at tricky falls, which is now closed. Huge inspiration always

Whaaaaaaaat you got tychoooo???? Sickkk viddddddd.
Dude, Tycho said he's a huge fan of YOU. what?...nice...(me too btw thank you)
Need to hook him up with Loopy Pro!
Whoo!!!!
Hi Tycho. How come I can't unfreeze midi tracks on Reaper 6.3? I saw some tutorials which showed how to do it. So I tried it and it worked but when I wanted to unfreeze it I couldn't. Is there a new way to do it? I need to edit some midi tracks.
BRILLIANT~! So much good stuff here. Question: Who is this Justin he keeps referring to? (Answered: Justin Frankel) Also, how is he listening to his click without his click going out to his mains? Also, I want to know more about his hardware set up. Your follow-on video to this answered a lot of my other questions!

pretty sure the click goes to channels 3-4 of his interface
Gotta grab a notepad for some of those vsts
Top ☺️
wowww
What is the computer he uses? UAD Apollo sounds good but Amplitube in Reaper for live effects does that cause latency? Or do you play with direct monitoring from Apollo then add the effects from Amplitube for subsequent loops?
@TheREAPERBlog

I think his main system is an iMac Pro, and a MacBook Pro for live rig. Amplitube has a bit of extra latency.

@@TheREAPERBlog I would guess he'd live track with UAD and audtion with effects but print dry (or slightly compressed), then have Amplitube on the subsequent loop. Even 2 or 3 ms on guitar will throw you off.
I'm curious as to what that second row of markers he has in his timeline is? Between regions and markers.
@IDDQDSound

It's just a normal marker but if you expand your ruler it'll do that to display the full marker name rather than just some of it :)

@@IDDQDSound Ah! Learn something new everyday. Thanks!
Biggest issue I have with this plugin are the clicks at loop points.
WHOAAA I've been searching, and got the analog version, the rc505 and then i wanted to control it with a pedal so i got the behringer fcb 1010, and I see this and realize I could have just gotten the pedals? but the rc505 has some sick vocal effeccts and synth effects and beat repeat effects and is still amazing as fuck. but im glad i saw tthis video

enjoy the rc505. It looks awesome! Maybe you can find a way to use super8 along with it.

Justin Frankel, who made Super8 and REAPER, and long ago WinAmp.
Super8 vs Playtime would also be great I guess =)))
Hey guys! Thanks so much for the video, exactly what I was looking for! One question tho. Could you please tell me who is that Justin guy you guys are talking about here and there in the first half of the video? Thanks so much! Actually I'm using this for my live looping setup even before I've seen this video and I'm glad somebody else who is such big name uses it too! Keep doing the Awesome stuff Jon!

You can tell that jon is a tycho fan
Who is Justin that he keeps mentioning?

Justin Frankel, made reaper.
it's true: things too tiny. And often barely readable.
it needs to gave a retrospective looping. Anything else feels old
need a tutorial for absolute begginers, dm me lol
To fast too much jargon didnt understand a thing, guess I need a beginner type video.
Is it really just talking about that thing??? not even playing a single note??? maybe I'm wrong .... skipped through the whole piece very quickly after 5 Min...

Wanted to but we weren’t able to this time. I agree the video would be better with a demo
