    This is looking perfect for the Nektar Pacer I have. The Pacer is so flexible with many programmable footswitches, but, it is somewhat like Reaper, you make it do what you want. Nektar Pacer has drivers for different DAWs. Reaper is one of them so setup is very easy!

    Tycho TALKS About Live Looping with Super8 (which is still interesting, but not what I was expecting from the title). Thanks to both of you anyway though. I tried to get my head around Super8 once before and gave up. Maybe it's time to try again.

    I remember when Minilogue just came out and I was trying to help Scott out with a workaround for an annoying Minilogue MIDI clock bug using Reaper. The 'workaround' didn't actually work and I was quite embarrassed. Fortunately, Korg fixed the bug in a firmware update, so it was alright in the end.

    My live looping setup uses TouchOSC as a controller, jsvolume and readelay. OSC works better than MIDI because OSC allows the controller to hit infinite repeat on the delay, whereas MIDI will hit .01 above or below . Input is on one track, audio sent to track with delay. Volume js is turned up or down to send signal into delay. Using a fader gets rid of loop clicks.

    I have a track template with 4 tracks set up. I use parameter modulation so all I record is the raw input. Been searching for a looping setup for decades that can beat synch, and this is best thing I’ve come up with. The very audible click at the loop points on SuperLooper makes it useless for what I do

    Hi Tycho. How come I can't unfreeze midi tracks on Reaper 6.3? I saw some tutorials which showed how to do it. So I tried it and it worked but when I wanted to unfreeze it I couldn't. Is there a new way to do it? I need to edit some midi tracks.

    BRILLIANT~! So much good stuff here. Question: Who is this Justin he keeps referring to? (Answered: Justin Frankel) Also, how is he listening to his click without his click going out to his mains? Also, I want to know more about his hardware set up. Your follow-on video to this answered a lot of my other questions!

    What is the computer he uses? UAD Apollo sounds good but Amplitube in Reaper for live effects does that cause latency? Or do you play with direct monitoring from Apollo then add the effects from Amplitube for subsequent loops?

  • @TheREAPERBlog

    @TheREAPERBlog

    I think his main system is an iMac Pro, and a MacBook Pro for live rig. Amplitube has a bit of extra latency.

    @@TheREAPERBlog I would guess he'd live track with UAD and audtion with effects but print dry (or slightly compressed), then have Amplitube on the subsequent loop. Even 2 or 3 ms on guitar will throw you off.
