@@KimiJadoreI remember exactly where I was. I was sitting at the dinner table eating some chicken and rice, and then my stepdad comes into the room and tells us that kobe died. I said, who? Then he said kobe, kobe bryant. Then I was like nah. What do you mean. You mean kobe? It just didn't process for me that he would die. It just didn't make sense in my brain. Then I looked it up on my phone and saw on TMZ that he died from a helicopter crash about 45 minutes earlier. I couldn't believe it at all

I remember hearing about Kobe’s death. I live in Australia so we were at a resort celebrating Australia Day and this was during the fires so we were celebrating the bravery of our fire fighters as well. We got really drunk that night and crashed out. The next day, I pop on to my phone and the news is everywhere. Not only did that ruin what was a great weekend but it set all of us up for one of the roughest and darkest years of bad luck

I still remember the exact moment I learnt of his passing. I was working and a customer or co-worker mentioned it. Quickly the news spread around the store and everyone began talking about it. It felt so surreal at the time. Just goes to show that life is too damn unexpected. Rest in paradise to all of those who passed

I was at a nursing home with my grandma (she’s out of the home now she just broke her hip) and I was buying some lunch and the man behind the counter was like you know Kobe Bryant? He just died. I didn’t know what to say I’ll never forget that

Im not a huge fan of basketball but there is something special when someones death can affect an entire community in the same way. That means that person was something special.

This shit just gave me the chills. I remember when I first heard the news too that one morning. I cried for a week. I couldn’t believe it I didn’t want to believe it.. it took awhile to get over it. Never met the man, but growing up in LA it felt like he was a part of my life..getting teary just thinking about it and all those memorable games. RIP Kobe

I’m not a fan of nba so I never knew much about Kobe, I just knew he was an nba player but damn when I heard him and his daughter died, I never thought it would hit me like I was a fan of him.

I always was a big michael jordan fan even though i live in Europe and my main sport / the sport that i love the most is football. I grew into all that nba stuff a lot of years ago because of sneaker (i collect) and friends of mine that used to play. So i started to play basketball 2 but never got really good at it. I still watch some games when i can because here in Germany the games are at 4 am. I remember how one of my best friends gave me a Kobe bryant poster/picture (mamba out scene) because he knew that kobe was beside mj my 2nd fav player. When I heard about that news i literally started crying. I couldnt even believe it. I was hoping a few days that it would turn out to be fake news but sadly it didnt :( The following days were also hard. You could literally feel how everyone at the court was sad. The fact that his daughter gigi died 2 just made it even worse A big loss for the sports and world in general a. Kobe, one of sports greats, a humble guy. Kobe Bryant STILL is an idol for every young man out there trying to accomplish something in life. Thats mamba mentality. Work hard and life will deliver

This gonna sound weird but I swear I cried when Dale Earnhardt died , I don’t even watch NASCAR , but I love sports in general, and the Daytona like Nascars super bowl , so I happened to be watching it , and idk what it was , I’m guessing it was cause I watched the crash happen on TV in real time , if anything I liked Jeff Gordon , so Earnfart was like his rival back then , so I always went against him , but when he died I was legitimately broken up about it. One of those rivals you hate , but respect. I’m a Packer fan too, so it’s the same with Randy Moss , T.O. , Warren Sapp, Brady this season , Cowboys in the Early 90’s , you trash them all day long , but when they gone or retired , you appreciate that greatness they always brought. Kobe hurt more than anything though. Kobe was never a nemesis, Kobe was the idol. After Jordan retired , I quit watching NBA altogether, only basketball I watched was College , Conference Tournys and March Madness , then #8 Kobe came and it was like Jordan rebirth, always told everyone , I wasn’t a Laker fan , but I was a Kobe fan. One of the best ever , and it hurt more than any celebrity death. And the sickening part was how the NBA never gave him his roses when he was playing or still alive , constantly downplaying his greatness , “doesn’t pass” , “wouldn’t win without Shaq” , “Sexual Assault” , etc, the Media always hated on Kobe , same way they did Iverson , yet only now , when they were able to see the magnitude of his greatness by how many people were disturbed by the news of his death, only then did they realize how special he was. And I would compare that to be similar to how I felt about Earnhardt , not realizing I only hated him because of how great he was , and the constant threat he always presented.

After seeing this on ig I went straight to Google and found out it was real, I literally felt like I lost a family member that day.

Literally got told by a girl at work when it first happened and was like how do you know? And she said Facebook. I instantly looked at her and was like gtfoh and laughed cause she believed something like that from Facebook. I was just casually on Twitter about 5 min later and slowly started seeing the tweets and my heart dropped to my stomach

I asked my mom for a Kobe jersey the day before he died and when I woke up and ate breakfast I saw on the news he died. I was so shocked and sad because he’s the reason why I play basketball and still do

I got this recommended four years after his death. And it still hits hard for me I wear the number 8 for Kobe because he is my role model to get better at basketball and to be a better person

I know that feeling of disbelief man. When I found out the news at the end of my hospital shift, I was screaming expletives in the elevator non stop and spent the rest of the day locked in my room watching Kobe videos.

Man I remember exactly where I was when I heard this news and I can’t even begin to describe the overwhelming sadness and shock that came over me and all of us. The world froze, like it was nothing any of us could’ve even imagined happening. People like Kobe you can never imagine something some tragic and unpredictable happening to them. He didn’t get to complete so many tasks he wanted to, he didn’t get to see Giana make it to the wnba and become a legend like her father, he didn’t get to see his baby girls grow up. The world hasn’t been the same without them now here we are 4 years later still living in Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s memory. Rest in peace Mamba & Mambacita 💛💜

Imagine if we lived in a time when people respected all religions and (or at the very least) their people, regardless of if they think that religion is bs or not.

It felt like a part of my Los Angeles childhood was ripped from my chest. Childhood hero, role model as an adult, hometown icon. Mamba Forever.

Once saw Kobe at 6am just me and him walking on the UCLA campus super early in the morning. We looked at each other and nodded and kept walking. I always regret not saying hello and shaking his hand but didn't want to bother him. I was actually In Kobe Japan when I heard of his passing, it was surreal.

I’m not really a basketball fan but I can appreciate what an icon and role model Kobe was for a lot of people and these videos always get me because obviously everyone has their time but to see someone who was so looked up to and had so much life left to live get taken so young is heartbreaking

This is so sad. I’m so sorry Kobe and to the people who were effected. It’s been a year. We miss you guys 😭

I was driving thru LA when this happened and all the radio stations were reporting on it instead of playing music. It was a surreal day

Rewatching felt like 2020 again, rip all involved

Everyone was like Kobe who when our friends told us about the death... even thou we only know one kobe....

My friend called me and I just kept saying Kobe who? Bryant? Kobe Bryant? Like my brain had to say it over and over to even register wtf he told me. Will never forget that day

The fact he had to check to see if it was actually real, it seemed so unreal to everyone, I didn’t watch basketball much, but when I heard about his death, it made me sad for him, not for his fans, but for HIM and his daughter

Crazy…I can still feel all of the emotion I had and remember right where I was when I heard…

I woke up and literally the first thing I saw before I could even put together where I was, was "Kobe Bryant dies in helicopter crash" I got up and spent 5 hours thinking it was some bullshit insta post,my lil bro came home from practice crying and everything since that incident has been downhill

Same shit. I can remember the exact time I woke up, 10:42 am. I got a notification from the Newsbreak app. My whole body got hot, I was hoping I read it wrong. I went on IG, and didn’t see anything on my timeline so I was like ok it ain’t real. Then I went to TMZ’s page. My heart dropped when they confirmed it.

I was out eating with some family friends and my friend sent me the text..I thought he was playing so I just said it’s a fake post..then I saw it on the TV at the restaurant..almost broke down in tears

@@justiny.burner5448 I was in my room on ft wit a little fefe, and my friend constantly kept calling me and I finally answer and he said Kobe died, and I said who Kobe and I denied it for the past 30 mins. After it sunken in I watched Kobe games for the rest of the day 💜💛

Bro I just cried for like 2 weeks straight. His death hit me hard , he was my idol since I was 12 and now I’m 20 . Rip Kobe u still and always will be my hero ❤️👑

I was playing Mortal Kombat 11 against someone that made their variation name "R.I.P. KOBE BRYANT" ..that's how I found out. I literally couldn't even focus to play anymore 😪

I was at work when I found out. Kobe being my favorite basketball player, growing up watching em and wanting to be him as a kid. (We even had a minor league basketball lakers team here in my city I played for). The news was so heartbreaking I had to walk off the line at work and shed some tears as it felt like a close relative who passed. No kids , but I named my first owned dog Kobe and a daughter of his litter name Gigi in honor. Rip black mamba and Gigi and the rest of the passengers who lost their lives on the helicopter😢

Still get goosebumps from watching this. The whole world felt his passing.

I shed a tear that day, I remember watching Kobe as a in my elementary years. I even had his Rookie card..terrible day..

I was in pismo at a hotel for a bday celebration when I heard the news and I didn’t believe it and then I started hearing employees talk about the news. It made my heart drop quick. I’ll never forget those sad news. R.I.P to everyone in that crash and families.

I was never a big Kobe fan but his sudden death was just shocking. I think it just reaffirmed to all of us how death or tragedy can happen to anyone, anytime no matter how famous or rich you are. Something that happens on a daily basis sadly. No one is untouchable to horror and tragedy.

Omgosh I remember that day I was just hanging out with my friend at my house it was such a normal day.. and then boom on the news😭my school payed a tribute to him in the announcements and I couldn’t help but ball my eyes out

I remember I was at Disneyland and my boyfriend texted me that he died and I didn’t believe him because he jokes around a lot. So I googled it and I couldn’t believe it! I remember walking around and all I could hear is people talking about his death. So so sad ☹️

I remember the day of January 26, 2020 when I went to in-n-out and I got a notif on my phone saying Kobe died, I didn’t believe it at first until I went on Google and saw the news. I’ll never forget that day.

I’ll never forget I was hooping at LA Fitness ironically enough the day he passed. We played “24” instead of 21 the whole rest of the day. RIP MAMBA 🐐💔
