Ty banks coming out of highschool was ranked the number 1 defender in the 2023 class. In his first five games he has proved this ranking and has emerged as one of the top lock down defenders in the country. The six foot 200 pound product out of the Western Reserve Academy plays a patient style of defense while also being able to deliver a big hit. This short stocky defender style has shown in recent years to be the best cover guys in the country from players like Ajax Zapitello and JT Giles Harris. Ty banks is also unique in the fact that he is extremely comfortable handling the ball and pushing transition. Banks was faced with the daunting task of guarding Pat Kavanagh in their game against Notre Dame. The freshman rised to the occasion and held Pat to only one goal.
