    @@LibrasReact This is the problem in America. High insurance has scared everyone from taking care of themselves. A visit to an ENT for cleaning (even without insurance), would've cost you around the same as for that Amazon camera/ear cleaner. Most have self-pay options and will even let you pay over time with no credit checks. Tell your sister to go to an ENT. Long term stoppage can cause permanent ear damage. Take care of yourself...let the finances fall where they may. Money comes and go but you only have one body.

    So what causes it? Is it the shape of your ear? The texture of your ear wax or do you not clean them enough? I feel like I go through so many q-tips. I clean my ears multiple times a week. No idea what normal is though.

  • @bjornkeizers

    @bjornkeizers

    Ай бұрын

    @@chaoswitch1974 Earwax has a specific function. It's is kind of like the 'cleanup crew' for your ear canal. Wax protects your ear by trapping dust, debris, and other things that might get into your ears. Usually, this earwax-garbage takes care of itself: with your jaw movement, like chewing and talking, you move this earwax from your ear canal to the outside of your ear. That's why you'll sometimes find earwax on the outside of your ear. Earwax buildup can happen for a variety of reasons. Sometimes there's just a bit too much of, which can cause a blockage. Your ear canal is really quite small, so it only takes a very small amount to cause a blockage. The shape of your ear canal can also be a factor. For me personally, I get blockages only in my right ear, not so much the left. It's perfectly natural and not a sign of poor ear hygiene for example. One thing that causes it is actually using Q-tips: that agitates your ear and makes it think there's something to clean up... which causes it to prduce more earwax. That's also why doctors tell you not to use Q-tips in your ear, only on the outside. You also risk puncturing your eardrum. If you use things like in-ear earbuds, that can also agitate wax production for the same reason. If you feel like you've got too much wax buildup and it's annoying, you should talk to your doctor about getting your ear irrigated like this. Q-tips really aren't helping.

    I have 4 ear surgeries, and 2 of them were reconstructions of the masteroidcavity. There's only 5 Doc in the whole state that had the certifications and skills to do the type of surgery I needed. Every specialist I've seen said don't use this technique because it could cause a infection. Having it sucked out under a microscope is safer and does not open you up for a bacterial inner ear infection due to the saline water.

    Went to school with a guy who was a farmer fell into the dryer and was deaf, learned basic sign language so he didn’t feel left out in class, he was put in special classes in high school and he would smile and sign in the hallways, left for college and seen him when I came home in summer. He was talking like he never was deaf. Apparently there was beans lodged in his ears and a membrane of skin covered them. Parents thought it was from the crop dryer and he was never thoroughly checked. Fast forward 2001: my son wasn’t talking good found out he was deaf in one ear, taught him sign language and read lips,my friend from school saw me signing with my son (now 5/6) in a store and started signing to him, he told my son “your mom knows sign language because she never wanted me to be forgotten or left out when we were kids, you are so loved, because she’s really good at signing now because of you!” My son used to say, “We saw Mom’s imaginary friend…at the store” and I was like WTH, apparently I got imaginary friends I don’t even know yet. So thanks Jay, thought he saw dead people or we were going to be on unsolved mysteries with all my imaginary friends I never knew.❤

    @@Infamous-El-Guapo At the general clinic i worked at, we administer ear drops for the patients to soften the wax 2-3 days in advance bfr the procedure. For the procedure, the liquid is a mix of saline and hydrogen peroxide. We would use a giant metal needle like instrument to pump in the liquid. manually. Here in the vid, the ENT specialist is using a more advanced tool to provide that water pressure.

    The dizziness is due to the water being injected is not the correct temperature, especially if the doctor is using a manual pump. The one the doctor is using would put the water in the correct temperature so the patient won't experience dizziness after the procedure
