Just a snippet of two watchdogs watching. Basenji‘s have been said to be in the watchdog category, where they watch for things… they’re alert all the time. Don’t get that confused with a guard dog. Being a watchdog doesn’t mean that they are protectors or guardians. But basenjis certainly are alert to any little thing that’s going on in their surroundings.
Here is an example of that. Dabi and Prisca on “watch” duty, having noticed my reflection in my computer screen, and subsequently studying me in it as I finish my work. Unfortunately, I didn’t capture much of it, because something alerted them, causing them to rush to the front of the house.
(They WERE “meowing” at me before I started videoing. Of course, they quit when I started filming.)
