The photos shown are not that of a bell helo. The Iranians are typical for denying anyone else credit for finding the crash site because of their pride. Either way the crash site being shown is not a helicopter crash. Helicopters don’t have fixed wings!

@@Mutasis_Mutandis I am not an aviation expert myself but I did used to fly on a bell helicopter life flighting patients to ERs and higher levels of care. The photo they’re using is definitely not a helicopter and clearly a fixed wing something. Iran is never going to be truthful about anything that doesn’t fit their agenda or implies that they are incompetent and will point fingers in every direction except their own. The government, not the people.

No pilot distress call, because the pilot wasn’t in distress. He errantly flew into the visually obscured mountainside. The G-forces were slightly mitigated by trees absorbing some energy prior to hard-ground impact. The alleged calls were made post-impact. While the wreckage looks unsurvivable, physics has shown benevolence to folks in prior disasters, so there’s a possibility 2 survivors indeed lived long enough to communicate before succumbing to their injuries, hence the initial “hard landing” assumption..

I'm old enough to remember when Iran was a modern Nation where women could dress any way they wanted. To go from being a modern country to back in the 15th century must have been so difficult for the women of that country. I hope they get a better leader now.

It is the tail section of what looks like the tail section of a Cessna 182 that is shown in one of the pictures. Sadly not uncommon by News channels to dramatize their videos with pictures of unrelated accidents!

There is a picture in his video of a wreckage that is of an fixed wing aircraft not the crashed Helicopter, you at TOI need to be more careful with what you publish!

This is confusing. Times of India, please clarify what you've written here: "Two voices REACHED rescue teams" and "Raisis's entourage contacted rescue team FROM ill fated chopper". The clear inference is that two people survived the crash and reported it. So, WHO were they? They didn't identify themselves? They died? Iran , please tell the country what you know.

Most likely they made the final call before passing away. The remains of the helicopter show the people in it were lit alive. Terrible way to go but perhaps the pain didn't last long.

The hard cloud was an unexpected event. The pilot was in the front seat so he would definitely know there was something wrong. 👍 The "Rules" say climb to get above obstructions, especially where cloud is involved. Maybe to pilot (RIP) missed that bit.

This was total drawback of his security detail. Shouldnt have ever allowed the flight. Having said that two other copters made it to the destination without any problem . Need to get a detailed investigation done. Otherwise with little information we are making wild conclusions

It is obvious. It was not a hard landing, but a crash. Look at the picture of the chopper - head down and tails up, broken into two pieces and the head portion completely burnt. That too on the slopes of a hill and not on a relatively plain ground. The chopper had a free fall and the pilot was trying his best to bring it under control. That is why he could not make the 'May Day' call. Sad.

Helicopters should not have been flying in IMC (Instrument Meteorological Conditions). It is very dangerous and I’m sure the pilots were aware of that. Watch the short KZread video entitled “56 Seconds To Live” and you’ll understand what they were up against.

The rescue effort was completely Iranian !!!! Looking for Raisi who was flying an American made chopper driving there Japanese made Toyota`s filming with there American phones and video equipment, and yes they did call out for assistance. Russia offered their services.

I heard that during the flight it was uncovered that the pilot was secretly gay . So rather than wait to get him to a rooftop they just tossed him out the chopper . Opppps .
