Ich war im November in Pratteln! War ne Killer Show! Das erste Mal hab ich ihn wahrgenommen, als ich "Burn" aus dem Whitesnake-Konzert 2004 in London bei KZread vorgeschlagen bekam. Seitdem hänge ich an ihm fest, könnte man sagen!

The thing that i wanna tell you... this tone is real. I mean i watched him LIVE and its true, not computer effect ... this man is amazing guitarist! You watch in youtube and when you visit a show you receive a 100% ! I feel sometimes the guitar cannot sound as much as fast he is playing.

Doug continues to be at or near the top of my playlists. If you want to shoot 6 guns 💪 he can do it. If you have to play outside the box, a la Jeff Beck, he has shown here he can do that too. Straight ahead rock, speed, play outside the key, he can do it all. He’s one of my faves. I’ve played 50 years now and if I want to try something new I don’t have to look any further than play along side. He quietly goes about his business. He can do it all.

Pretty much blue channel on the 101b I guess. I play one, the tone is incredible without any box or boost in front. The super juciest thing and playing it feels like cream with ice cream and cream :D

I never understood how he could get so much speed when he flattens his fingers the way he does which is not conventional but he makes it work obviously

Ian C it’s a custom shop 58 re-issue- he doesn’t play production models. His gold tops are custom shop 57 re-issues. Better wood, and amazing resonance - the production standards don’t even compare.

check all of the comments ; "OMG the tone! etc." BS. he has a les paul run thru at least 4 amps that none of us could ever afford, yet he has achieved the tone of a sci-fi movie spaceship.

He's only demostrating that he can play: (heavy) rock, blues, fusion and... if you listen more his albums you can listen more of that.

To be fair most attempts of jazz/fusion guys trying to play rock are a complete train wreck so let's not get too judgemental when a rock star pays homage to his idol Jeff Beck.

You'd think the English guitar players would dominate this genre but they don't. Said by an Englishman. Guthrie is a bit too precise. It needs feel.
